This is truly disgusting and unbelievable. I'm getting to the point where I just feel like there's absolutely no hope left for our country at all.

After reading these comments I think it's clear that Ron had a ton of supporters who supported him because of his foreign policy views and for that reason only.

I feel the same way when I see people here praising Sarah Palin, Ted Cruz, and Donald Trump, and when in 2012 I saw people throw their support behind Mitt Romney...I wondered WTF? I guess there are single-issue voters everywhere.

None of those people agree with Ron Paul's foreign policy. I guess you're talking about some other issue that made those people vote for those candidates? Someone like Ted Cruz is far from perfect from a liberty perspective, especially on foreign policy, but there's no way in the world that you can say that he's as anti liberty in his overall views as someone like Bernie Sanders.

Bernie Sanders is horrible on economic issues....but there are issues where I agree with him more than I do with Ted Cruz. Cruz wants to expand the military; Sanders does not. Cruz seems to be in favor of continuing the Drug War; Sanders is for decriminalization. There's possibly more to their support than just foreign policy, but that IS a huge issue for many Ron supporters...myself included. But being that Bernie is a socialist, he would never have my support. Perhaps others aren't bothered by that. To each his own, I guess.

I agree with Sanders on maybe a handful of issues as well, but probably disagree with him on at least 80 percent of the issues. While I probably agree with Cruz on 80-90% of the issues. The main area where I disagree with Cruz is on foreign policy. He's not bad when it comes to the war on drugs, as he supports criminal justice reform to reduce drug sentences and believes that the states should have the right to legalize marijuana if they want to. That doesn't seem too different from where Bernie Sanders would be on that issue.

For some people, foreign policy is at least half the issue... so for them to see other Ron Paul supporters supporting Mitt Romney or Ted Cruz simply because they agreed with them on economic issues when there is a huge discrepancy on the foreign policy issue seemed to set a bad example for those Ron Paul supporters who now support Sanders.

Sanders isn't exactly a clone of Ron on foreign policy either. People seem to forget that liberals take quite different views on foreign policy issues like foreign aid and the United Nations. Sanders is quite a bit less anti war than a liberal like Dennis Kucinich as well. The worst part of all of the comments were that there were a large number of comments defending Sanders' positions on economic issues.

Some "supported" Ron just because he was a thorn in the side of the Republican establishment, and they liked the disruption. There were all kinds of people who gave their supposed support for Ron for all kinds of reasons other than liberty.

It really goes to show how small the liberty movement was and is. We live in a nation of slaves.

It's very embarrassing. The country truly does not deserve freedom.

Can someone respond to that asshat Co dy Ke ith as I do not partake in Facebook?
He has over 400 likes on his ignorant and confused statement (referring to us a neocons? That's so 2011)…

Any way, if you say you're a Ron Paul supporter/libertarian/anarchist, and then support the likes of Bernie, that's when this actually becomes a time to say "You're not really what you say or think you are."

As we all know around here, socialism is one of the many antitheses of libertarianism… No further explanation needed, if so, you need to do some serious research.

I agree with this. That's why Sanders would never have my vote.

Bandwagoning in politics is 100x worse than it is in sports. The voting public is very fickle and inpatient. They would hop on the next new thing in a New York second. That in combination with single issue and no principle voters means that any candidate and their dog could be the next new it thing. Today it is Trump and Bernie and tomorrow it could be Santorum and Booker.

Perhaps we need a thread evaluating Bernie Sanders and his positions. Should be easier than many other candidates, as he has a long Senate voting record.

This does need to happen.
