Ugh. :( I hate Chris Wallace and that show. I think it would be better if Rand just skipped it, at least until way later in the season. Wallace is nothing but a borderline liberal who does the blocking for the establishment candidates. The best Rand will be able to do is mount a decent defense against Wallace's attacks, and how does that help him? It's no better than going on the O'Reilly Factor.

I agree, especially since the three moderators for the GOP debate a week and a half later will be . . .

Bret Baeir (btw, not Brit Hume as I had before mixed up the name)

and Wallace

This could be a Fox ploy for ammo and getting those intelligent answers from Rand -
so that Wallace then asks Jeb and/or Rubio that same question first at the debate,
with them using Rand's answer or ideas.

Is this a tactical mistake vs. Fox, or on the other hand - better debate practice for Rand ? (he doesn't need it).

That's right! I forgot he is going to be one of the moderators.

I like Bret Baier; the other two not that much. Wallace in particular is an MSNBC wannabe.

Are you saying we should take our marching orders from Alqaeda if they want us out of the Arabian Peninsula??

I wonder if Faux News Sunday with Chris Wallace actually is getting taped today - on Saturdays (?)

If it is a taped show, with editing they could make Rand look good or bad, as Murdock sees fit.

Hope this turns out OK for Rand in the long run,
but my cynicism for Fox and especially Wallace has been earned from the Iowa Ames straw poll in 2007 and on.
http://www.foxnews.com/on-air/fox-news-sunday-chris-wallace/

I figure Rupert Murdoch could very well be standing behind the editor/censor guy
watching pre-30 second tape delay uncut feed yelling :

Murdcock: "cut, cut, CUT ! . . . we will use that idea for Jeb's opening question in Cleveland on the 6th"

Lessons learned . . . Good luck Rand!

Trump questions. Asking why he's lost momentum. Targeting his differences with the conservative base. Great interview Wallace...real fair and balanced.

Unfortunately Rand fell back into his usual spiel one too many times.

Rand gets an A-, it was a well above average performance.

Criticisms: (1) needs to stop stop using the phrase "you know what's interesting is..." as it sounds like you're speculating or researching rather than stating a truth, (2) don't namedrop obscure people who the audience won't recognize (I already forget the name of the fellow he mentioned re the failure of bulk data collection), and (3) spend less time explaining your campaign strategy, as if you were an analyst rather than a candidate, and more time promoting yourself (Ron had the same problem, encouraged by the interviewers, who wanted to make him appear a spectator to the race rather than a viable participant).

Chris Wallace: you're now having candidates respond to random Facebook posts? ....You:journalism::Miley Cyrus:music

Is this a tactical mistake vs. Fox, . . .

The entire show aired at 12pm Mountain Time - just over and then it will re-air again at 2pm again -
watched it only to see how it looked in totality. What a terrible mistake this was, in retrospect.
The campaign got duped, as was cynically expected by you FreedomProsperityPeace and I.

Yeah, Fox News CEO Ailes did a number on the campaign in the final cut of the total one hour production.
Rand's 10 minutes by itself is fine, A- even (?) but . . . how much of that 10 min. previously taped piece was edited out by Ailes, who knows?

So what did Fox do then . . . probably even showed it to Cara Carelton Fionna before it aired even, and airs her first on the hour-long program,
so the Rand interview "shows" on air at a huge disadvantage as Rand could not know what just came on before him.

Carly who wasn't previously expected to even be in the debate is introduced as "one of the most outspoken critics of . . ."
and she is looking like the expert in the battle against Planned Parenthood. US Senator Rand Paul up next . . .

Wallace kinda mockingly suggesting to the on-air audience now how Rand is losing the battle on the Senate floor,
vs McConnell (Carly is the most vocal critique is implied, right Wallace -
and now how do you Senator explain the needed "reviving" of the dwindling campaign,
which Rand does ok enough with - yet Cruz and Huckabee are the ones who tied in 7th in the visual Fox had on just yesterday.

The talking heads segment follows - one mentioning the "GOP brand" which it was Rand who labelled that term months ago,
with the audacity by Wallace slipping in a jibe about how Rand (along with Trump) are lessening the Republican base.

So, Fox can be expected - and has made the argument out to the masses - that it is only fair for Senator Rand Paul to get asked the 7th question at the GOP debate. With a Carly bump now this last week to eke out the 10th spot to get a girl on stage, she can get the Planned Parenthood question even.

I wish I were totally wrong - but I don't need to see the replay in 10 minutes either.

i like "you know what's interesting is"....it's a way of agreeing with people and making them listen to your message

maybe because we've heard it a million times it seems annoying...
