Every Child Achieves Act (Senate Bill 1777) passes 81-17 on Thursday,
it still has a bit to go before coming law ending federally-mandated Common Core requirements.

Senate Bill would free states from Common Core

Senate roll call shows Rand, Cruz, Rubio (as well as Sen. Lee (R-UT) and Sen Flake (R-AZ)) all voting No
McCain and Harry Reid (D-NV) were Yeas, as of course most were.

Anybody have a perspective why Rand and Lee would oppose this . . . doesn't go far enough (?) or Amendments bad (?)

There were failed amendments from Cruz and Mike Lee that may have something to do with it. Cruz regarding state control over assessment standards and Lee's regarding opt-out of federal testing.

Some SHOULD be left behind, and are. No law is going to change that.
