Higher Cigarette Taxes in California?

Sometime in the future California will increase the cigarette tax to $2 dollars a pack. It might make it to the 2016 voting ballot!

California keeps getting worse and worse!

+1 rep for California.

Why don't you guys really set an example and go for $100 tax per pack.

Let's hasten the inevitable.

The excess of taxes is only creating a Black Market because it is completely disproportionate of a Free Market Value.

Pow Pow Pow! Was that a Drug Lord? Nope. It was a Tobacco Lord. Mafia of the 21st century, and a thousand times more dangerous than a petty pot dealer.

There already is a black market or maybe after market is a better term. People sell them in the hood here by the cigarette. Like a dollar each. When these convenience stores get broken into the first thing they grab are cigarettes.
