A video of Americans being asked about Independence Day is a concerning reminder that many do not know why they celebrate on July 4.

Media analyst Mark Dice interviewed citizens in San Diego, California, asking whether they will be at a party this weekend.

He then questioned them on the historical details of the event they will be marking - and many of them struggled.

We used to celebrate that our nation was founded upon the morality and wisdom of Thomas Jefferson and his closest friends.

Now we don't celebrate anything. We just eat too much and try to burn down the house.

The reason people celebrate July 4th is elected and unelected priests and other authorities of the State Religion told them to from a very young age. Quite Pavlovian, really. Brilliant mind-washing.

Depends what age they are.

Some of us were required to read the Declaration as part of our education. And we know what we're celebrating. In fact, four decades ago most Americans did.

For the first time in my life, Georgia's law allows selling and purchasing all fireworks. That law went into effect just yesterday. I am happy that I do not have to make a trip to Alabama or Tennessee any longer to load up.

I'll be wrenching on the 3500, but I will observe and tie one on for those who truly sacrificed. The district of cesspool, and kardashian worshiping fools that we see today, will not drive me away from honoring those who were once willing to stand up for something right.

Something about society was once worth celebrating, but has gone to hell to such a degree that it is no longer worth celebrating, and you want us to believe that is a step in the right direction...?
