'Air Force Ron' Crashes, Sinks Tea Party

"'Ronulans' can't get it up," sneers O'Reilly

Ron Paul's grassroot effort fell far short of their $200,000 goal to put a blimp, of all things, in the sky to advertise his presidential campaign. The failure to raise a paltry (to them) $200,000 in over a week appears to be the sign of a movement in its last gasps. It raises serious doubts that the upcoming fundraiser commemorating the revolutionary 'Boston Tea Party' will be able to raise even a seven-digit sum, a huge disappointment compared to the $6 to $10 million dollars they believed was within their reach.

'Air Force Ron' Soars to Support Tea Party

Amazing, Amazing! - Blitzer

Ron Paul's grassroots effort, already a phenomenon, just launched a 190-foot blimp, festooned with his name and the "Ron Paul rEVOLution" tagline that has become the grassroots' unofficial theme. The blimp launched this morning from Elizabeth City, NC, and will be seen by millions as it makes its way to Boston, where it is scheduled to appear at the grassroots' next fund-raising event, a massive rally and 'money-bomb' expected to raise between $6 and $10 million dollars on December 16th, the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party of 1773.

False dilemma. The teaparty doesn't need the blimp to be successful. In fact, the blimp only takes money away from the teaparty. But the teaprty will be a huge success no matter what.

Capitalize on the tea party:

Support Operation Front Door (http://www.myspace.com/operationfrontdoor)!

Operation Front Door: Basically the plan is to get meetups all across the country to have a big canvassing push the week after the 16th. This will coincide with the December 16th tea party-

Picture this; You're sitting at home watching the evening news and you're seeing "Ron Paul makes another fund raising record" then 'knock-knock'- it's Ron Paul supporters at your door. That's kind of the idea. While the media is pushing the fund raising we're knocking on doors showing how strong this grassroots campaign is and offering information about Ron Paul....

We are going to need the blimp about a week after the tea party to keep the news going. The tea party will be a two to three day story. What do we do for a follow up, except for the Blimp at this point.

The blimp could be the critical factor for Ron Paul rising in the polls in New Hampshire and winning the primary. The New Hampshire voters are very finicky. They like to be catered to. They will appreciate a non intrusive blimp flying overhead.

Not officially. :) I've written and published a few articles here and there, and I'm probably going to start doing more of it. I'm just looking for an outlet that will get me more attention than my YouTubes. :D Thanks for the compliment.

In fact, the blimp only takes money away from the teaparty.Fletcher, even a guy who just showed up here and has only 1/100th as many posts as you have, can clearly see this is short-sighted and dead wrong regarding the blimp taking $ away from the TeaParty.

You see only a zero sum game and ignore the leverage the blimp unleashes on people and funds that are not today even slated to go to either.

The coming huge media attention and recruiting of excited newbies and energizing of the existing troops, via the blimp being launched right before the TeaParty and going to Boston in support of it, will have many more, and new, and bigger, donors eagerly contributing to the TeaParty.

Every $ spent to get the blimp off the ground and headed there will increase both the excitement and momentum for the TeaParty that will result in many more additional donors and donor $'s for the TeaParty than the blimp cost in doing it.

Might be instructive for all to have a little exit question at the TeaParty on-line donor link on that day inquiring about to what degree the blimp created or added to their excitement and decision to participate and make their donation then. That information will then be helpful justifying why it's worthwhile continuing to support keeping it airborne after the TeaParty for any future naysayers.
