View Full Version : If the 17th Amendment Wasn't Passed, the Supreme Court Impeachment Would've Started Today

Since this is a direct takeover of powers reserved to the states, and the Senators originally were chosen by the state governments, they would be pledging to convict the Justices today.

I'd agree with this.

Early 20th century was pretty friggin bad era for human liberty... 16th, 17th, Federal Reserve Act, you name it.... we are reaping the fruits of this labor today.

Lol, no they wouldn't. Do you think that they'd actually have the courage to do that?

Impeachment is done by the House.

Impeachment is done by the House.

I think it's easier to start once you know there are votes for your position in the Senate.

It's funny how it took this one issue of wieners wanting to marry their desired buttholes for people to get upset about 10th amendment violations.

The Feds have been violating the 10th forever. Now we suddenly care because some shitty old testament says butthole play is bad.

Whatever gets the revolution started, I suppose.

There have been many 10th amendment supporters here for years.

right after the Civil War, cartoonists like Thomas Nast lambasted the political

in the major cities and in each state who controlled patronage. Direct election

senators was a reform move intended to break the power of the bosses of the late 1800s
and early 1900s. Tammany Hall in NY was infamous. They cut political careers short
in the era when tariffs generated revenues. http://cartoons.osu.edu/digital_albums/thomasnast/bio.htm

The people who are suddenly 10th supporters will put their support right back in the closet the moment the subject switches to immigration.

not really, the public now supports gay marriage, and impeachment would never pass the house.

it's a great thing gay people earned their freedoms. They can go to school, get a job, and now raise families! Best of all, they don't need to pay that disastrous gay tax.

And?

The borders are a common defense issue.

If it weren't for the need for common defense, there might not have been a federal government at all.

"we" was the wrong word. I meant people in general.

And fisharmor is correct. GOP nig-nogs are choosers that completely lack consistency. Where were these people when Ron called for getting the state out of marriage entirely? Everything people view as shitty is deserved for not listening to Paul in 2008 & 2012.

Liberals are always gonna lib. The stupid party doesn't matter. The GOP should be to blame for all the 10th violations. It has all been a build-up that they wanted to happen. They love the chaos and misdirection.

Disagree. Just as Obama impeachment did not start because he is half black, any SCOTUS impeahment won't get started. Half of Judges are minority and GOP cannot afford to appear "racist", "anti-semite".
