Public Policy Polling surveyed 1,108 registered voters from June 18th-21st. The margin of error
for this survey was +/-2.9%. 80% of participants responded via the phone, while 20% of

Those are pretty good numbers.

Q15 shows he doesn't have great name recognition (in the rest of Kentucky, I bet it's pretty good in his district)
Q18 shows despite not having good name recognition he still does pretty well

Especially considering that he has not shown any intention of running.

this is what PPP wrote about the Massie polling:


If Paul were to somehow win the Republican nomination we do find that hypothetical match ups for Beshear and Luallen with Thomas Massie as an alternative GOP candidate would start out as toss ups. Beshear leads Massie 43/38 while Massie leads Luallen 37/35. A lot of that potential competitiveness for Democrats may tie back to Massie only having 27% name recognition though.

There is no doubt in my mind that Thomas would win a Senate seat in Kentucky.

Edit: But he might be waiting for McConnell to retire.
