You have to understand, people within the GOP do not see themselves as "neocons".

I liken the parties to sports teams. Everyone has their favorite and they root for their "team" to win. In this case we have a donkey and an elephant mascot.

They see Dr Paul as a losing candidate. Therefore, in their eyes we will cause their "team" to lose if he makes it. And they think it's Democrats & Libertarians "doing" it. They simply do not understand that there are still Goldwater Republicans around! And if they do understand it, they take us for granted because they realize if fiscal conservatism is important to us, how the HELL can we vote for a Democrat?

My best case scenario? Giuliani/Clinton with Dr Paul as a third candidate. If Obama or Edwards get the nomination that will hurt us. But if it's Giuliani/Clinton then we get a big boost to a third party candidacy. Many people will simply not be able to stomach either one of them, no matter what their team says.

I'm sick of the fact that the GOP is a packaged deal. Today, aside from Ron, you can't have a fiscally conservative president without at the same time electing a socially conservative nut that will trample over your beliefs and trumpet his own.

IMO, the Democrats are pretty much the same way. You can't have a socialist (big spender) candidate without one willing to cut our freedoms in the process.

The issue is not the GOP it's the social conservatives within the party. This is why it's so important to take this revolution beyond just the goal of electing Ron Paul. Otherwise, it will NEVER change.

The GOP knows the socials won't elect Giuliani, that's why they're boosting up Huckabee.

The GOP also knows if RvW is overturned and if people go back to a state's rights platform, then they lose the social conservative bloc. That's why the GOP has gone so far left on the statist platform of late.

When you take back what was originally yours, you are not hijacking!
