View Full Version : Michigan Grassroots Effort

Does anyone know of a grassroots effort similar to Operation Live Free or Die, or 30 Days to Iowa in Michigan? If not, would anyone in Michigan be willing to organize such a program? I would do it myself but I am not from Michigan and am not familiar with the area. I would be willing to help out if anyone takes up the challenge. Maybe we could get some of the volunteers in Iowa to come up to Michigan and help out there after the January 3rd caucus date.

I know one person from my area who is going to Iowa.
In the Lower Peninsula there are meet up groups that have stuff going on.
In the Upper Peninsula I am spreading the message person to person.
There is little (or no) organization. Large areas with little population, very rural.
If you want to visit be prepared for winter conditions. Bring snow shoes.

I really don't think people realize how important Michigan and Wyoming are.

Michigan's republican sign up date is the 17th. There's a meetup tomorrow outside a mall in southeastern Michigan. Twelve people will be there. Twelve.

Michigan is state #4 by the way, and has, by far, the worst economy in the country. What better place for Ron Paul supporters to unveil Ron Paul's economic positions? Unfortunately, time is running out extremely bad, and, well, supporters are having trouble organizing. Maybe something should be planned for the fifteenth?

I'll talk to a meetup group organizer . . . This weekend or Monday. Though, my point is that everyone is making a big deal about Iowa and New Hampshire, but he could have Michigan easy if we had a better way of making people aware. I like the Ron Paul snow day thing, make snowmen holding Ron Paul signs.

Does anyone else have ideas? . . . Seriously . . . Michigan=potential, but, right now, Michigan=sleeping.

P.S. If you want to help organize, check michigan4ronpaul forum . . .

Check to see if any of the schools in the UP (Michigan Tech, Northern Michigan or Lake Superior State) have Ron Paul chapters at them. Hook up with them and see if and a few students would be willing to pass out slim jims at college hockey games, which is a huge sport in the UP.

But as the man said, dress warm.
