Why is Rand opposed to seperation of church and state? He recieved a rating from Americans united for Seperation of Church and State indicating opposition to it. It is in the constitution.

LOL. Which constitution are you reading? That phrase is not found in the US Constitution. Do yourself a favor and read the first amendment to know the correct phrase.

Separation. I guess we need to spell it out for you. Maybe the reason you thought it was in the Constitution is because you were looking for the wrong word?

Lol no it isn't. It says Congress shall make no law regarding the establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. All the early presidents proclaimed national days of prayer and such.

Sounds like we have a person here who read the US constitution. Maybe you can pass a copy to the OP writer as they are clueless about the words in the Consitition. But maybe the OP is talking about that living Consitition I always hear about....William are you reading that old "dead" Consitition from the 1700s?

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Do you have evidence that Rand Paul stands against this, or do you just believe everything that "Americans united for Seperation of Church and State" tells you?

The best way to sell separation of church and state is to point out the truism that whenever religion and government begin to merge, religion is invariably corrupted. The most active and growing congregations in America are independent Evangelical Churches that operate by free market principles. In Europe, by contrast, where religion is often subsidized by the Government, all you see are empty pews.

The problem with most "separation of church and state" rhetoric is that it is framed in way that makes it seem like government needs to be protected from religion. What we need to do is take control of the narrative and argue that the reason we need separation is so that religion is not corrupted by evil that is the state.
