Jim Lehrer: Hillary Clinton, what makes you different than your opponent?
Clinton: I unlike my opponent is willing to stand up for the American people and women's rights.
Rand Paul: Could I respond to that?
Jim Lehrer: You may but only after the debate.
Rand Paul: I think I should be able to defend myself and I think the American people should hear what I have to say. If she is the only one here speaking then you shouldn't even call it a debate.
Jim Lehrer: All right.
Rand Paul: From the very beginning Clinton has spread absurd lied about me. She takes a position that is not my position. I said that rights are infinite while government powers are few and she would have you believe otherwise. That is the very definition of being intellectually dishonest. Why don't you run on your own merits instead of bringing me down? I want the lies to stop!
Jim Lehrer: Clinton, your response?
Clinton: I think my opponent and I just disagree. That is fine.
Rand Paul: Spreading untruths about me is not disagreeing. It is lying.
