If you haven't heard about Operation Live Free or Die (http://www.operationlivefreeordie.com/about.html), it's a very heartwarming story. A Google employee named Vijay Boyapati flew from his Google outpost to Google HQ to attend the Google Interview of Ron Paul (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCM_wQy4YVg) (he appears at 42:31 in the interview). He was so inspired by Ron Paul's message of freedom that he QUIT his lucrative job at Google and has been dedicating the last month to organizing a grassroots effort in New Hampshire to go door to door and get out the message of Ron Paul. Today is the day of their fundraising effort "Five for Freedom", where they are asking RP supporters to donate $5 to their efforts this December 5th. This will help defray transportation and housing costs, and all money goes to their movement.

Please donate $5 or more today at: http://www.operationlivefreeordie.com/donate.html

If you'd like to volunteer for Operation Live Free or Die, please do so here (http://www.operationlivefreeordie.com/volunteer.html)!

NOTE: There were some issues this morning with PayPal not accepting payments; these issues have been resolved. Please donate!

I had the same problem. The chip in website will not let me give money at this time.

Not to be alarmist or anything, but this is not good. The site cannot simply be "overwhelmed" as it is run through PayPal, which has thousands, if not millions of hits every day... I don't need to lecture anybody on the fact that it should definately be able to handle any load we can throw at it.

I emailed Vijay and someone else posted in their forums, so hopefully it will be resolved soon! I hope PayPal didn't decide to freeze the account because of "abnormal activity" or something.

It is back up. Apparently according to Vijay, they shut down the accout due to "government regulations" and needed to verify the information.

I smell horse manure.

Well anyway, it appears to be working.

Start your donations again!

a lot of small exact charges will raise flags. I have no doubt they needed to check it out.

Still not working. Now Chip in won't even appear. Will keep trying. Maybe they'll have it figured out by tonight.

I finally got through and was able to donate. Anyone know what the total was?

It says $38,491, at present, on their website:
http://www.operationlivefreeordie.com/donate.html

But I'm not sure that all happened on the one day. I suspect a fair chunk of it was raised prior, and may already have been spent.

Anybody that hasn't done it yet, time is still open.

Thank you all for participating in yesterdays donation drive. We raised over $40,000 and overall it was a wonderful success. The money will be used to house volunteers who will be canvassing here in New Hampshire during the next four weeks.

During the beginning of the day we were experiencing some technical difficulties with paypal. If you were not able to make a contribution and would still like to do so please visit OperationLiveFreeOrDie.com/donate.html (http://www.OperationLiveFreeOrDie.com/donate.html) to donate now.

Thanks again for making this fund raising drive a success.

...I think the chipin on that page is a little out of whack because Vijay put his own personal email there as well to accept PayPal donations after they temporarily froze the PAC account. Thanks for helping out, guys!

Our strategy for NH is to use a Mobile Billboard display truck to drive routes in NH the weeks before the primary. I would like to coordinate with the leaders on the ground in NH so that they can use the truck for canvassing and rallies etc... It is a huge flat double sided billboard on a truck, we can also broadcast audio to a radio a FM frequency that will be available to radios in a short radius. I would like to hear from some leaders in Five for Freedom like Vijay or anyone who is interested in this. Using the truck in a strategic manner will increase our effect in NH.
Please respond in thread and those in NH interested please email me.

We are also working out designs, I think the Ron Paul R3VOLUTION is great and on the other side I have no clue yet. Suggestions welcomed.

I am actually not affiliated with Live Free or Die, just a supporter.. if you'd like to coordinate with them I highly recommend either posting on their forums (http://www.operationlivefreeordie.com/forum/), or contact Vijay himself at vijayb @ gmail.com

Sounds like a great idea, good luck!
