I am a highschool student, 17 years old, and I am going to Iowa during the second tour. I got in contact with Jeff, and he said that my age is not a problem and will not prevent me from attending. Based on his message, he has essentially confirmed that I am attending. I, however, do not have the funds to get to Iowa. I had a meeting with my Meetup group tonight, and they were able to give $40 on the spot. I did some calculating, and I think about $200 give or take will be sufficient for a round trip.

Would anyone here be willing to donate for gas money? If there is enough interest, I will start a ChipIn by the end of week.

Also, the area I live in is virtually untouched by anything Ron Paul, other than myself and a few friends spreading the word throughout the school (which has been very successful). My current Meetup, which is absolutely wonderful, and most of its activities are generally more than an hour away. I am looking to start up a new Meetup in my town, because there is a lot of interest and buzz around the school.

If anyone is interested in helping out in that aspect, rather than or even in addition to the Iowa funds, I would really appreciate it.

Sorry if it seems like I am asking for too much, but money is just something I do not have a lot of. Time, however, I have in abundance. Also, to prove that I'm not just trying to steal your money, click here (http://ronpaul.meetup.com/209/) to visit my Meetup group. I am one of the assistant organizers, Austin.

One last thing, I live in Warsaw, Indiana. Take a look at the Meetup map (http://ronpaul.meetup.com/about/) and you will see that there is a rather obvious gap in my area.

His campaign will pay for the gas! Go to RP's home page and click Christmas in Iowa! Top right by his head www.ronpaul2008.com

Actually (unless something has changed), the campaign will only pay for the gas *within* Iowa. It's still the students' job to get there, which is what I think he's asking about.

That's correct. The campaign has stated that they will pay for gas once you have arrived, but getting there is a whole different matter.

Thanks for your interest, folks.

I have made the ChipIn, for those of you that are interested in donating. So far I have received $50 from the forum and $50 from my Meetup.

I think I'm going to try to make the 2nd tour. I have to do the Ron Paul Christmas (http://ronpaulxmas.chipin.com/ron-paul-christmas) thing here in Kentucky 1st though.

But great job on making a commitment - in spite of the fact you can't vote yet!

Oh I can vote. Even if I were 17 in the primaries, Indiana's laws allow for a 17 year old to vote in the primary as long as they are 18 by the general election. I will be turning 18 in April, a month before Indiana's primary.

Do your best to make the 2nd tour.
