Good question. Due to my business I might be stuck here, unless I sell it off, but then where do I go? Canada? The SPP will probably nearly merge us with Canada anyway, then I'll still get stuck with the wrath of Clinton/Bush anyway. I'd need to find some very foreign country.

FYI, I'm in NH , and we are pretty "free", but wouldn't we need to succeed? We don't rely on much federal money here, but wouldn't we be pressured into it? Anyone? heh

I plan on staying here, but Belize is always a backup. You can get dual citizenship by owning property there. (Belize Passport too)

Anywhere but an indepedent democratic island would be just as bad. Japan might be ok.. but anywhere else ... Europe, Canada, etc would still be bad, and would be socialized, and more expensive (more taxes), and hard to integrate into.

what would be the best independent, democratic island in your estimation?

I didn't answer the poll b/c I don't think I would leave right away. But if it got bad enough, I'd definitely consider re-location. You'd almost certainly need to leave the U.S. to make a difference in your situation.

I know Europe is very socialist, but what about the smaller city-states like Monaco or Luxembourg? I believe they are both tax havens (at least for corporations), but I don't know much about their system of government or political leanings.

I answered NH/free state project, but a better alternative may be Vermont and the Second Vermont Republic secession movement.

Well, we should find out who Ron Paul's protegé will be and support him in 2012.

Second Vermont Republic secession movement.

what about those who say all that these projects do is put a target and a place to bomb for those who 'hate us for our liberty'?

It would be interesting to see if a state could succeed if it seceded.

I've thought about this alot, actually. I have friends in Europe, and I'll probably go over there the end of may for a month or two. If we're still in war, I'll try to legally become a refuge.

I'm sorry guys but there really won't be much opportunity for turning back if Ron Paul isn't elected.

2012? It will be too late.

I am going to move to BFE where it doesn't matter. ;) Live on a farm, and shoot anyone who comes near me.

What's BFE?

It is an off color term for "timbuktu" or just consider it "the middle of nowhere"

Bum F**K Eqypt = somewhere far away from the hustle and bustle of civilization.

Not sure I follow...

if everybody who wants to quit supporting the u.s. all move to one state, some say that when martial law kicks in they'll just bomb that state.

i was additionally joking that they would say it was anonymous brown people who 'hate us for our liberty'

Stay where I am! (Well, I might move out of California, but that's Arnold's fault).

I survived Carter. I survived Reagan. I survived Bush and Clinton. And damned if you know it, it looks like I'll survive BushII as well. So I'm sure I can survive whoever comes next.

When you take the long view, things really have been getting better. I know that's heresy for those of you who wallow in negativity and paranoia, but it's true. In some ways we are worse off than our grandparents, but in most we are better. Part of this gain is technological. But some of it is genuine libertarian gains in politics. Yes, we still have plenty of problems, but we are NOT living in the worst of all possible worlds. Things ARE improving. Our overall liberty is slowly but enexorably increasing over time.

What would you do?

Move to Wyoming and help with the Wyoming Free State Project and work with Boston T. Party and the plan to build a legal State militia (as our federal Constitution says) ... a plan fully descibed in the new book "Constitutional Homeland Security."

This is what I'm planning on doing no matter what anyway though.

Don't run...you will only die tired.

If you let "them" run you out of your country, you will go with a whimper, while others fight with a roar.

2012?

Is that a reference to the Mayan calendar?

The Mayans could not even predict their own end, let alone the entire planet.

I'm planning on moving to Oregon, but thats mostly due to the ills of living in Southern California. Although RP not winning would give me more of an incentive to leave, considering the pro-illegal stances of other likely candidates.

Personally? Probably just stay where I am, at least for the time being. I have friends who might seriously consider leaving the states if we saw another Clinton regime though...

Quite possibly NH. Not so much for the Free State Project (though I would join it if I ever decide to move up that way). The winters would be rough though.

Or back towards the Mid-West. Probably MO.
