The letter wasn't a violation of the Logan Act. Now, inviting Netanyahu to address the lawmaking body was a violation.

Bingo.

intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.

I think I like the last part best.

Yep. I had specifically mentioned that over in the other thread before it even happened... http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?469074-Rand-Paul-quot-Proud-to-sign-a-resolution-welcoming-Netanyahu-to-Congress-quot&p=5786512&viewfull=1#post5786512

Section 441e of the Federal Elections Commission law could come into play as well. Will see if anyone goes so far as to challenge it but is dependent upon how/if the Republican party uses Netanyahu's address to raise money for republicans in any way. We are already seeing their actions toward Iran following his address to congress. And, of course, the elections are coming up over there as well which compounds the issue further. Could also be said that an act of sedition was committed because I think they need authorization from the Executive Branch to do what they did. I'm not exactly sure about that one. They'd have a tough time proving the sedition. It's out there on the table, though.

Boehner should know better, really. And he's the one who invited Netanyahu, to be clear.

intercourse with any foreign government
That might get more people watching CSPAN

So who is supposed to actually investigate these sorts of things?

just recognize the Republic of Palestine, and cut-off aid to Israel. maybe even cut-off sales of military items.
that would end Bibi's war dreams.

One person's opinion that the Logan Act is a joke:

The White House petition program gives the illusion of participation. Nothing is ever changed because of them.

"On Friday, August 1, President Obama signed a bill into law (http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2014/08/01/answering-publics-call) that again made it legal for consumers to unlock their cell phones in order to take them to a carrier that best suits their needs. It marked the very first time a We the People petition led to a legislative fix.

It's a win for consumers, and an important milestone for We the People (https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/) -- which has generated more than 15 million users and 22 million signatures on over 350,000 petitions since it started in 2011."

Not that I expect charges to be filed, but it will call for a response.

Now they want to enforce the Logan Act? What about Barack, Hillary and others at Bilderberg?

Have to start somewhere, in a lawless world.

What's the saying? "A million wrongs don't make a right?"

They picked an odd time to start caring about the Logan Act is all.
