View Full Version : "He can't win" - calling their bluff

I'm sick and tired of hearing people in the media saying "he can't win". It happened again this morning on The View. But I just had an idea of how to combat this. It's not my idea, it's actually Dr. Paul's:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=j54SrtYRkgI

The idea is that everytime someone in the media says "he can't win", we send someone down with a camera and tell them to put their money where they're mouth is, and bet $100 on it, then publish the video.

Sportsbook.com is legal in the U.S., right? They have a running bet on the Republican nomination, and I think Dr. Paul is currently 4:1 against, so we only need $25 to match. :)

Bring a laptop so bets can be entered on the spot. Then we'll see if they're just talking the talk to fit in with the rest of the MSM/carry out their orders from the daily memo, or if they *truly* believe Dr. Paul can't win.

Time to be our own investigative journalists, like with the St. Petersburg straw poll fiasco.

Faith, Hope and Love.

In this case:

love = reEVOLution

hope = Pray for Ron Paul (winning)

faith = Repeat "Ron Paul can win", "Ron Paul Will win".

The War mongering "Christians" only use the hope and faith part for their candidates, we should counter that & Its good we have the reEVOLution to tip the balance.

Um... ok.

Right, as I was saying, I think we should call their bluff on camera, prove what they *really* think. I'd be willing to set up a site to host videos and a chip-in, but I'm useless for camera/field work. If other folks want to make the videos, I can host them, and use the chip-in to reimburse the bets.

I like it. Challenge Joy Behar to put $100 on him not winning.

I giggle inside every time someone says he can't win.

People have been saying it for 7 months now. Look where it has gotten them. All it does is fuel our base (leading to Nov. 5th type events) and give Dr. Paul that lovely image of the wonderful underdog fighting for truth and justice. These people are just unknowingly throwing their crediblity out the window... and I love it.

Most of the people who think RP can't win don't know anything about him or his grassroots, or his money. Screw them. Move on.

Typical MSM Ron Paul coverage:

Although he has no chance on winning ...he has raised the most money, won 25 straw polls, won almost ever debate poll, and has increased to 9 percent in the polls. What a great story back to you Wolf!:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Coming from Joy Behar, that remark is utterly meaningless.

Think of the vacuum that is the world she lives in....on a show like "The View" pandering to the bottom of the intellectual food chain day after day, working with other people who think and talk like she does thinking up more vapid things to talk about, imagine who her friends must be...OMG. Her brain must be the size and have the function of a raisin.

I think a better challenge would be:

"If Dr. Paul is such a longshot as you claim, will you immediately and publicly call for any candidate that does not outperform him in Iowa, NH, SC, NV to drop out of the race?"

It would be huge if he won anywhere. But NH would be good given the opportunity to convey momentum.

Oh, I don't care about the specific individuals who say "he can't win". I'm not out to convince them. I'm interested in the opportunity to call their bluff in front of the people they've influenced by saying "he can't win" in the hopes of making those who took them on their word, question their word.

It's about discrediting naysayers to remove their influence over voters, not about the naysayers themselves.

If Ron Paul is such a long shot? Why did he raise the most money, win more straw polls then Yankees have won WS titles, wins every debate poll, and is moving up in the polls?:)

That's a good idea, too. Real questions, real answers, real reporting. Squeeze some truth out of these people like water from a stone.

Absolutely. I live in NH, and am helping with that, too. This is just one more idea, and it doesn't require waiting till Jan 8 to have an effect. Might even *help* win NH.

It all depends on if any of you amateur reporters/videographers wanna take a stab at it. Give me one yes, and I'll get a site up and we can coordinate from there.

Tell them that RP has either won or came close second on about 95% of all straw polls. Tell them he pulled more $$ then McCain and, I believe, Fraud Thompson (correct me on this one if I'm wrong). Tell them that 9/11 Guiliani hasn't won crap. Tell them about 11/05/2007 and how RP took in more $$ then anyone else ever online in one day. Tell them RP got more money last quarter then then previous quarter in donations and was the only one who did so. Tell them that we are more passionate and numerous then anyone else from GOP. Tell them that their consciousness and sense of integrity will be rewarded by helping a candidate whose views they agree with.

This idea is genius. We need a site for this.

People will sign up at the site, and every time someone in the media says "Ron Paul Can't Win" everyone donates $25.00

sportsbook.com is most definetly illegal in the U.S.

but there's one candidate running for president who would work to make that legal

i wonder who that might be

They're trying to popularize the notion that Ron Paul wont win, anyone that has ever been in the advertising game know that making something seem popular is a vital gimmick, people love a winner so the Media are painting Ron as a loser, based on sinister polls that no one ever seems to hear about.

So much for an apparent democracy. I seem to remember the stupid "vote or die" message that was touted by the media a few years back. Well what's the damn point if they tell you who can and can't win before a ballot has been cast?.

I think the charade has been unearthed by this campaign, many millions of Americans now realize that they have never really had a choice, the power elite dictating to the people which candidates they want you to vote for much in the same way the Federal reserve give their preferred candidates list to the president to choose from, the reality is; he doesn't choose, the fed does, we the people for the last hundred years haven't chose a candidate either, the damn Media has and they're losing their grip.

Thank god for the Internet, little wonder they hate it.
