A tech-savvy New York teen allegedly hacked into his high school’s computer system to improve his test grades.

The New York Post reports 16-year-old Eric Walstrom made it past New Dorp High School’s highly secure computer security system using a computer in the school and setup his own network in order to access it from his phone.

The student was caught when an IT worker noticed someone was logging into the system without authorization, the newspaper reports. The Staten Island school notified police and Walstrom was arrested Wednesday.

Walstrom was charged as an adult with forgery, computer trespass, unauthorized use of a computer, computer tampering and criminal possession of forgery devices. Rot in hell petty and grandstanding DA!

The student studied advanced computer programming at an elite computer camp held at several universities, the Post reports. The camp teaches computer infrastructure programming and various computer languages.

One student, Sean Morris, told the Post that Walstrom is “super quiet” and uninterested in school.

“Maybe he can get a Secret Service job later on,” he said.

Let me guess,,
The school computers were a Micro$oft system,, owned by micro$oft (Read EULA) and paid for by taxes.

If they were smart they'd be hiring and training him, not trying to imprison him.

You can't let Matthew Broderick near a computer. He's either hacking the military or changing his grades.

Any decent career is going to be hard to come by if that idiot DA manages to get a conviction on felony charges. :(

This is the government we're speaking of here...naturally no reason will be consulted.

If someone is charged as an adult they should instantly become an adult regardless of conviction. If someone is going to jail he may enjoy a night out, or playing some slots, or voting while he still has the chance.
