We all need to be aware that as Ron Paul increases in strength our forum will increasingly attract posters posing as supporters who are actually from opposing campaigns who are here to cause disruption and doubts. :eek:

This is a very difficult problem as it will be near impossible to identify these people from those who are offering honest criticism.

I guess all we can do is keep our eye on the target, be positive and push forward.

He didn't take my donation from Ron Paul, I'm maxed already. And I'm donating for the blimp tomorrow. My hat's off to people who just do whatever they can think of to make this message go viral.

I just ordered 200 winter beanies and had them embroidered with "Ron Paul for president". Some of them have glow in the dark embroidery which is very cool. People love them and say they will donate to his campaign as payment for them. I have already used up about 50 of them and I haven't even contacted the people I told I would get them to on the local college campus. I'm afraid I wont have enough. I love the excitement that freedom gives people. :D

Probably because it's not a grassroots effort anymore. Funding a private company is not that exciting IMHO...

They only did it like that because of legal issues. The paperwork involved to create a Political Action Committee (PAC) was apparently ridiculous.

The blimp is a damn good idea. I can not believe we haven't learned from all the crap that happened leading up to Nov 5th. This is Trevor, the guy who made www.ThisNovember5th.com. Here is what is on the RonPaulBlimp site, READ IT.


We will not be forming a PAC (Political Action Committee) as discussed originally. Under a PAC donations to the blimp would count towards donations to the official campaign. For example, if a person contributed $100 towards the PAC then they would only be able to contribute $2,200 of the $2,300 maximum to the official campaign. Forming a PAC would also be a FEC legal nightmare due to regulations and restrictions.

The legal nightmare around a PAC as well as the overlap with regular donations made a PAC the WRONG choice. I personally think Trevor did a great service here! The official campaign could even purchase blimp time if they wanted to!!

It's interesting - that's for sure. Is it good for RP? We gonna see. I'm not against it or even against their company handling it, or their salaries or whatever. Trevor made a simple website, taking the idea from these forums. If not Trevor, somebody else would do it, because the idea was already there. He was just the first guy to do it. People pledged, advertised it and finally donated. That was a GREAT GRASSROOTS event. Do you see the difference? It was you, the people, who made this event big.

I'm well aware of that. But please read what I've written earlier. This is not a one-project company. I didn't question their decision to set up the LLC instead of PAC etc. I've just had a feeling that you're saying, that they set up the company just to run the RP Blimp, which is obviously wrong.
