Joan Rivers, no stranger to controversy, told a reporter this week that President Barack Obama is gay and that first lady Michelle Obama is "a transgender."
Rivers was asked by a reporter on the street about her Monday appearance at a bookstore in New York City, where she officiated an impromptu gay wedding between two of her fans.
The reporter then asked her whether the U.S. will ever see a gay president, to which the 81-year-old Rivers responded, "We already have it with Obama, so let's just calm down."

Rivers started to walk away before adding, "You know Michelle is a tranny." When the reporter asked her to confirm what she had said, Rivers said, "A transgender. We all know."

She beat Jimmy Carter and controversial Ewww for the award and is allegedly a Republican.

The late Joan Rivers accomplished a major feat Sunday night when she won (http://www.grammy.com/nominees?genre=32) the Grammy Award for best spoken word album that is all too often won by a politician.
In fact, Democratic Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren was nominated for the prize for the audio recording of her book “A Fighting Chance.”

Unfortunately for the possible Democratic presidential candidate, Rivers’ “Diary of a Mad Diva” prevailed. This isn’t the first time Rivers has been thrust into the political ring. She has been quite outspoken about her rejection (http://redalertpolitics.com/2014/07/25/joan-rivers-lets-media-perceived-anti-israel-bias/) of the media’s perceived anti-Israel bias and her belief (http://redalertpolitics.com/2014/07/07/watch-joan-rivers-obama-gay-michelle-transgender/) that Michelle Obama is, well, a “tranny.”
Undoubtedly, Rivers’ win will be celebrated by those on the right, and not only because she beat out Warren for the prize.

But it is remarkable that Rivers is being given so many honors in the aftermath of tranny-gate scandal she brought to media headlines.
