OBAMACARE DEAD? House passes a bill that would both repeal Obamacare

In its fourth attempt to repeal the Affordable Care Act, the GOP-led House voted Tuesday to completely repeal Obamacare.
The 239-186 vote fell mostly along party lines, with three Republicans dissenting—Illinois Congressman Robert Dold, New York Congressman John Katko and Maine Congressman Bruce Poliquin.
What’s different this time around? Well, this bill would require new policies to be developed and implemented in its place. This “repeal and replace” action is the first time the House has coupled Obamacare with a directive to replace it.

The biggest potential roadblock for the healthcare law could be at the Supreme Court, which, in March, will hear arguments on whether the federal government can provided subsidies for consumers to purchase healthcare coverage in states that did not set up their own health insurance exchanges.
The case, King v. Burwell, could potentially cripple ObamaCare, as it would eliminate subsidies for people whose states chose not to set up exchanges in defiance of the law.
A decision in the case is expected by late June.
Tuesday’s vote is nearly the 60th in the last four years in the House to undermine or repeal the law, since Republicans took over the chamber in 2011.
The last full repeal vote was in May 2013.

Not being able to receive a subsidy will in no way eliminate the MANDATE to purchase healthcare. This may lead to nationwide elimination of federal insurance subsidies; the smell of socialism being replaced with the more powerful, unadulterated stench of Corporatism.

The Stupid Party Strikes Again


House Republicans have voted yet again to repeal Obamacare. Naturally, it was a party-line vote of 239-186. Now the bill goes to the Senate so the Republicans can waste even more time. Of course, there is a greater chance that the sun will not rise tomorrow than that Obama would sign the bill to repeal the healthcare law that bears his name. But if the Republicans are so interested in a free market in health care, why don’t they vote to repeal Medicaid, Medicare, and Bushcare (the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003)? The answer is that Republicans and conservatives don’t believe in medical freedom at all.

I would still be (pleasantly) surprised to see it brought to the floor, and especially pass, though.

Honestly, I'm to the point of saying, "Let them have whatever they want." Let the oppressors realize firsthand that their laws are meaningless unless they are enforceable. Rip the guise of "necessary public good" from their clutches by exposing their methods of enforcement for what they are -- subtle implications of violence -- via civil disobedience. As people slowly become reconditioned to governments' true nature, Theire grip on power slips even further and more quickly.

Control of the "money" supply is just about their only advantage, but alternatives like Bitcoin may wrest even this.
