Where I live. A no trespassing sign is a warning sign. We can legally shoot people who enter our homes uninvited.
I don't know if a cop would be stupid enough to try that here.

bullshit. If the cop entered the home without a warrant he was indeed trespassing. No trespassing should legally apply to cops unless once again warrant.

I'm not sure about other states, but in Mississippi and Alabama both, private property is considered posted land whether a sign is up or not. There is no such thing as "it only applies to certain people".
