*** Best Alex Jones Interview ever! *** - . Bill Ayers let Alex Jones make a fool of himself. Great Job Mr. Ayers. I love Alex but Good God Alex. Enough of the Hyped up Bullshit of passing on untrue information. Just because the main stream media says it, doesn't mean it's True. Even if it's about a perceived enemy. How convenient to pass the lie on knowingly or without checking if it benefits your Narrative or Agenda- http://www.infowars.com/alex-jones-debates-bill-ayers/

So let me get this straight. You're cheering on an avowed communist terrorist? Really? Are you sure you're at the right forum?

When you finally get around to listening to Bill Ayers himself in his own words, you tell me what he says in this entire interview that you disagree with. I'd like to see it in writing for myself.

I am 17 minutes into this and all I can say is that Bill Ayers is clearly intelligent, dishonest and misguided.

I can only guess that you Ralph are somehow a believer of socialist democracies.

Not impressed.

When you finally get around to listening to Bill Ayers himself in his own words, you tell me what he says in this entire interview that you disagree with. I'd like to see it in writing for myself.

Listening to it now. What's your point? That if he can do a 40 minute interview that sounds good that's the truth? Okay. I think Alex did a poor job on this one. He should have asked Bill Ayers about the book "Prairie Fire."

http://www.sds-1960s.org/PrairieFire-reprint.pdf

Here is the quote you should pay attention to on page 24:

"Socialism is the opposite of capitalism/imperialism. It is the rejection of empire and white supremacy. Socialism is the violent overthrow of the bourgeoisie, the establishment of the dictatorship of the proletariat, and the eradication of a social system based on profit. Socialism means the control of the productive forces for good by the whole community instead of corporate greed. Socialism creates the conditions for a decent and creative life for all."

Note that Bill Ayers signed off as a co-author of Prairie Fire.

In this debate with Alex Jones, Bill Ayers not only tries to pretend there's a big difference between socialism and communism, but then he tries to even distance himself from socialism by talking about "participatory democracy" and throwing up a brand new term "economic participatory democracy." Alex Jones should have given him enough rope to hang himself with on that by defining it instead of talking over Ayers whenever he (Ayers) brought that up.

So I throw your challenge back to you. Read "Prairie Fire", especially pages 22 - 26 (the section titled "What we think", and let me know if you agree or disagree with that. David Duke will do interviews today with a lot of stuff that I agree with. That doesn't change the fact that he at least was (and in my opinion still is) a virulent racist. But Bill Ayers wasn't even willing to disavow his past like David Duke has!

What did Ralph do to deserve all that neg rep?

Well I didn't neg rep him. I generally don't do that unless someone is ridiculously over the top and/or is neg repping me.. But praising Bill Ayers on a liberty forum? The neg reps are not surprising. I will agree with Ralph on this much. Bill Ayers was very smooth in that "debate" and Alex Jones was an idiot. Alex should have spent time going over what Bill Ayers actually wrote instead of bouncing around from one dubious connection (George Soros) to another (Melissa Harris Perry). Goodness, it's almost like Alex Jones was working with Bill Ayers to help him rehabilitate his image.

They're not surprising, I just find people shooting them at trolls/weird newcomers for stuff like this to be weird. Maybe because I have never handed out a neg rep before I just have a different view. I like seeing crazy statists/trolls/newcomers on this website. It's both a challenge and a breath of fresh air.

Whacking a hornet's nest isn't a bad thing, it's just stupid. Give him advice on why not to whack a hornet's nest.

Supporting a socialist doesn't make you a bad person, just misinformed.

That last one is always annoying, but hardly deserving of a neg rep.

I won't neg him, he hasn't been here long enough to know what he thinks on other matters. I don't think scaring off new members is smart, until you at least know what sort they are. Negging someone for posting about something that was discussed before he was here is just plain dumb.

And BTW AJ is great, and I don't like Bill Ayers and communism at all.

I have never been a follower of AJ,, But he has broken several stories,, and he was one of the few that gave Dr. Paul a platform.

I am now curious who +repped him and for what.?

I suspect if he sticks around,, he will fully earn a red bar.

I agree. I could have done a better job and that's not saying much. Jones has a research team. He could have come up with some hard facts instead of all of this "Do you deny that George Soros funds you and MSNBC treats you like the messiah" BS. I honestly have no idea where Alex Jones was going with all of that.

I gave him the -rep on his gray box for the stupid post.. And that interview had been posted and discussed in the past.

I would happily have given a +rep if it had been anyway deserved.. and mine hit for +22.

handing out +rep for inane bullshit sort of defeats the purpose.

To be fair, regardless of the interview, Alex Jones is indeed prone to posting misinformation and falling victim to confirmation bias often enough that it would benefit him to be taken to task by others on what he espouses. Jones is very sensationalist and in the business of fear-mongering, though of course, he gets things right sometimes. It would do a world of good if people questioned him to verify his sources.

I happened to catch some of this interview while I was eating lunch the other day.

I agree with the OP that Alex was embarassing.

Ayres even tried to give Alex an OUT by trying to establish some common ground on issues such as the American Empire and its mass murders.

And I remember while doing this that Ayres inadvertantly gave Alex the proper "in" to the proper line of questioning when he asked Alex if he was more like Rand Paul on the Empire.

And Alex ALMOST instinctively gave the right response when he said Rand is moving to the middle. But, he didn't continue the proper path which would have been to point out that Ayres is like Rand in that they are both tools (witting or unwitting it matters not--even though I think Ayres is probably more unwitting than Rand).

A true libertarian interviewer would have focused on how both Ayres and Rand are tools pulling their respective left and right audiences to the center--away from suspicion of government and toward shoveling more and more money and power to the welfare/warfare state (respectively).

I didn't hear the whole thing. I doubt Alex was smart enough to bring this up, but I would LOVE to hear Ayers address the thesis of Jack Cashill who used textual analysis to pretty much prove that Obama's book was completely stylistically authored by Ayers.

Ayers--the son of a giant public utility Commonwealth Edison fat cat was a merchant seaman and a very talented writer. Cashill shows how Obama's book is loaded with countless metaphors and illusions to nautical high seas imagery and written by a skilled writer. Cashill then analyses the scant actual extant college writings of Obama and shows how Obama is a border line moron who's writing ability and verbal SAT scores are in the Bill Bradley range--i.e. way below the national mean.

Right. Alex Jones needs to make Rand Paul look like Bill Ayers.

Alex Jones' purpose was to discredit Ayers. At least that's what he seemed to be wanting to do. AJ should have used Ayers own words to attack him. There's plenty of material.

This-
I listened to Alex for like five years straight, every episode. I learned a lot (googling everything said) and I enjoyed it even when I disagreed with the topic, guest opinion, or Alex's opinion. A couple years ago right when he started the new expantion it was like he had to ramp up his obnoxious behavior to a new high. This is when the episodes seemed to just be repeating over and over with the same rants that take away from interview or show time. Anymore I just listen when David or Jakari are hosting if I even listen at all

Alex Jones and InfoWars has always been a mixed bag, but he's not someone I would want to really defend a pro-liberty position in a debate. When he's good, it's not because of his great debate skills. Honestly, Ayers isn't that good either. Bill Ayers got obliterated Megyn Kelly of all people. Her extensive interview with him really made him look like a weasel who lacked the courage of his convictions

The matter was raised in a campaign debate by moderator George Stephanopoulos (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Stephanopoulos), and later became an issue for the John McCain (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_McCain) presidential campaign. Investigations by The New York Times, CNN (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CNN), and other news organizations concluded that Obama does not have a close relationship with Ayers.[65] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Ayers#cite_note-nytoa-65)[66] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Ayers#cite_note-cnnfc-66)[67] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Ayers#cite_note-67)
In an op-ed piece after the election, Ayers denied any close association with Obama, and castigated the Republican campaign for its use of guilt by association (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guilt_by_association) tactics.[41] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Ayers#cite_note-real-41)

In 1997 Chicago awarded him its Citizen of the Year award for his work on the Chicago Annenberg Challenge project.[49] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Ayers#cite_note-Drew_Griffin_and_Kathleen_Johnston-49)
William C. Ibershof, formerly the lead federal prosecutor in the Weather Underground (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weather_Underground) case, wrote in 2008: "Although I dearly wanted to obtain convictions against all the Weathermen, including Bill Ayers, I am very pleased to learn that he has become a responsible citizen."[68] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Ayers#cite_note-68)
Ayers was elected Vice President for Curriculum Studies by the American Educational Research Association (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Educational_Research_Association) in 2008.[69] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Ayers#cite_note-69) William H. Schubert, a fellow professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_Illinois_at_Chicago), wrote that his election was "a testimony of [Ayers'] stature and high esteem he holds in the field of education locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally."[70] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Ayers#cite_note-70)
Wall Street Journal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wall_Street_Journal) columnist Thomas Frank (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Frank) praised Ayers as a "model citizen" and a scholar whose "work is esteemed by colleagues of different political viewpoints."[71] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Ayers#cite_note-71) Studs Terkel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Studs_Terkel) called Ayers' memoir "a deeply moving elegy to all those young dreamers who tried to live decently in an indecent world."[72] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Ayers#cite_note-72)
In an October 2010 Chicago Sun Times (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_Sun-Times) editorial Attacks on Ayers distort our history, former students of Ayers and UIC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_Illinois_at_Chicago) Alumni, Daniel Schneider and Adam Kuranishi, responded in opposition to the University of Illinois Board of Trustees' decision to deny Ayers Emeritus status. They write, "We juxtaposed the image of him painted by the media with the teacher we saw in class; and the two could not be more distinct. The Ayers in the media was frozen in time; he never left the 1960s, never aged out of his 20s, and never grew in perspective. As his students, we see through this representation ... Ayers is still committed to movements for peace and justice. His worldview and tactics are evolved and elaborate, thoughtful and wise, making him unrecognizable to the media's caricature. Should we not expect someone to evolve after 40 years? One may disagree with his activism, but it is impossible to ignore his hard work and contributions to urban education, juvenile justice reform, the University of Illinois and Chicago."[73] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Ayers#cite_note-73)
Criticism of Ayers and his work[edit (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Bill_Ayers&action=edit&section=14&editintro=Template:BLP_editintro)]

Radical bomber[74] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Ayers#cite_note-74) Jane Alpert (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jane_Alpert) criticized Ayers in 1974 "for his callous treatment and abandonment of Diana Oughton (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diana_Oughton) before her death, and for his generally fickle and high-handed treatment of women."[75] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Ayers#cite_note-75)
Reviewing Ayers' memoir in Slate Magazine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slate_Magazine), Timothy Noah (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timothy_Noah) said he couldn't recall reading "a memoir quite so self-indulgent and morally clueless as Fugitive Days (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fugitive_Days)."[76] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Ayers#cite_note-76) Sol Stern (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sol_Stern), a conservative opponent of liberal education policies, is a longtime critic of Ayers; he has "studied Mr. Ayers's work for years and read most of his books."[77] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Ayers#cite_note-no-77) Stern has written critiques of Ayers's career as an education reformer for City Journal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_Journal_(New_York)) and elsewhere.[78] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Ayers#cite_note-78)[79] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Ayers#cite_note-79) His criticism in summary: "Calling Bill Ayers a school reformer is a bit like calling Joseph Stalin an agricultural reformer.".[80] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Ayers#cite_note-80) "The media mainstreaming of a figure like Mr. Ayers could have terrible consequences for the country's politics and public schools."[77] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Ayers#cite_note-no-77)
Feminist (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feminist) critic Katha Pollitt (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katha_Pollitt) sharply criticized Ayers' December 2008 New York Times opinion piece[81] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Ayers#cite_note-81) as a "sentimentalized, self-justifying whitewash of his role in the weirdo violent fringe of the 1960s-70s antiwar left." She castigates Ayers and his Weathermen cohorts for making "the antiwar movement look like the enemy of ordinary people" during the Vietnam War (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vietnam_War) era.[82] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Ayers#cite_note-82)

How do you suppose he funds his operation? He isn't bankrolled by government funds or taxpayer money.

I get that, but shilling magic potions isn't all on the up and up for some. I am a listener.

Maybe he is bankrolled and controlled opposition. He couldn't be selling too much magic DNA formula could he? Hell I don't know.

Praise and criticism of Ayers[edit (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Bill_Ayers&action=edit&section=12&editintro=Template:BLP_editintro)]

Praise for Ayers and his work[edit (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Bill_Ayers&action=edit&section=13&editintro=Template:BLP_editintro)]

Personal life[edit (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Bill_Ayers&action=edit&section=15&editintro=Template:BLP_editintro)]

Bernardine Dohrn and Bill Ayers in Occupy Wall Street (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occupy_Wall_Street), Zuccotti Park, 2012

Ayers is married to Bernardine Dohrn (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernardine_Dohrn), a fellow former leader of the Weather Underground. They have two adult children (including Zayd, who was featured in the book A Hope in the Unseen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Hope_in_the_Unseen) as the college friend of the main character Cedric Jennings) and shared legal guardianship of Chesa Boudin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chesa_Boudin), son of Kathy Boudin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kathy_Boudin) and David Gilbert (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Gilbert_(activist)). Boudin and Gilbert were former Weather Underground members who later joined the May 19 Communist Organization (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/May_19_Communist_Organization) and were convicted of felony murder (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Felony_murder) for their roles in that group's Brinks robbery (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brinks_robbery_(1981)). Chesa Boudin went on to win a Rhodes scholarship (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhodes_scholarship).[83] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Ayers#cite_note-83) Ayers and Dohrn currently live in the Hyde Park (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyde_Park,_Chicago) neighborhood of Chicago.[84] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Ayers#cite_note-Fusco-84)

He could peddle actually legitimate products instead of quack bullshit.

Decent products: water filters, those dude's survival kits maybe

Deep earth rare mineral iodine? Dick pills? DNA repair pills? Kinda quacky stuff, but Alex does say that even his extreme stud horse self can only take 1/2 of a dick pill. Seems legit.

-

Would you still praise him and salute his intelligence if you found out that he was first "bundler" and associate of one of the most disgraced dronegangsta puppets in US history?

I really don't know that much about Bill Ayers. I did listen to the Alex Jones interview. Alex did a crappy job, worst ever imo. However, Bill Ayers actually said a few things during the interview I agree with and he came across significantly different than the reputation that proceeded him. That may be because Alex didn't ask the right questions, kept interrupting his answers, and threw words in his mouth. Alex was quite juvenile and totally out of his league in the interview. The callers' questions were far more effective than Alex Jones.

I have never been a follower of AJ,, But he has broken several stories,

(Yes. Alex broke the story of 'the UN and the Bilderbergers' feasting on babies roasted in gold foil'..and the russians launching nukes on y2k...where would society be without these important stories he broke?)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnIMdXVXimY

...seriously, Alex's whole stinking gig with Ayers could be summarized by his rude yosemite sammish interruptions:.. 'CMON, ADMIT IT AYERS!, YOU'RE A GUN-GRABBING PINKO COMMIE AND YOU KNOW IT!'

Stinking Jones is Ruse Limbaugh 3.0..Glenn stinking Beck was Limbaugh 2.0..Jones is just another stinking Republican apologist...

Here's an Obomba-Ayres Timeline that Alex could have asked him about. Just Saying. Alex is in a very difficult position being the point of the spear. At times he must feel overwhelmed and alone. -

"THE AYERS/OBAMA TIMELINE: (Version 2.0; a work in progress; dates are approximate)

1981-1983 [William Ayers and Barack Obama meet at Columbia?]
1987 William Ayers links up with Barack Obama in Chicago
1988 Ayers solicits Khalid Al-Mansour to raise money for Obama’s Harvard law School education
1989 Tom Ayers and William Ayers get Obama a summer job at Sidley & Austin (where he meets Michelle Obama); Ayers’ wife Bernadine Dohrn also worked at Sidley at about the same time as Barack and Michelle.
1993 Ayers places Obama on Woods Foundation
1995 Ayers makes Obama Chairman of Annenberg Challenge
1995 Ayers hosts a coffee klatch for Obama’s political debut (Obama falsely claims this is when he met Ayers)
2007-2008 The structure of Obama’s presidential campaign increasingly comes to resemble an Ayers-designed national “community organizer matrix” straight out of Maoist theory. This is not merely a presidential “campaign.” Obama’s organization is the first installment of an ongoing movement being paid for with tax-exempt contributions to his campaign, approaching half a billion dollars.
2008 Obama In response to ABC News, Obama tells a national TV audience he was “six years old” when Ayers bombed federal buildings, and they are only casual neighborhood acquaintances.

I would love to hear Ayers respond point by point to that timeline. Do you think he would deny and stonewall the same way he did with the stupid irrelevant questions that Alex asked him?

I remember reading how Ayers without prompting likes to "joke" about being the author of Obama's book. I want to hear somebody ask him why the barely literate Obama used the word "ballast" 10+ or some such times in the book. Could it have been ghost written by another talented writer who was a former merchant seaman who had a tendency to spice up his work with lots of nautical terms and imagery?

He's a communist, that's all I care about, I don't need to tell you what I disagree with him on. Communists are evil and wrong and killed more people than US ever did. End of story. Alex Jones isn't a communist, so I'll trust him any day over a communist.

Yeah, that would have been good. Alex Jones seemed like a junior attorney unprepared for a cross examination. He kept asking questions that Bill Ayers easily deflected and Alex had no decent follow up to pin Ayers down.

I am actually disappointed in Alex on this interview
1) he said there are good and bad people in the Justice Dept
2) he believes if a parent is raping their own child, somebody is right to stop them (Bill agreed with him, that's what makes him wrong)
3) he keeps insisting Bill is a celebrity...wtf, is he so desperate for ratings?
4) he says he's a feminist, WOW

To be fair, regardless of the interview, Alex Jones is indeed prone to posting misinformation and falling victim to confirmation bias often enough that it would benefit him to be taken to task by others on what he espouses. Jones is very sensationalist and in the business of fear-mongering, though of course, he gets things right sometimes. It would do a world of good if people questioned him to verify his sources.

Has Alex Jones ever said that an event of significance was actually what it appeared to be? Literally every time an event happens, he said it was a plot by the global elites to subjugate us all. It's like he thinks that variance and "loose wiring," are impossible, which is strange given the fact that there are SEVEN BILLION PEOPLE ON EARTH and there is ALWAYS something extreme happening somewhere. He'd have a lot more credibility if instead of saying events themselves were orchestrated he talked about how coverage of the events is presented.

thesis of Jack Cashill who used textual analysis to pretty much prove that Obama's book was completely stylistically authored by Ayers.

Thanks! I had never heard of this before, and had to look it up. Fascinating stuff, for sure.

He said Chris Dorner was legit, ostensibly because he was a pro-gun control Obama supporter. Alex Jones is very often what's wrong with anti-government narratives; jumping to conclusions about how the state is behind anything without any evidence.

I got to the point where I can't help but see that, Alex, isn't jumping to conclusions, but that he is trying to pull around and lead with a leash.... a bunch of hard-sell fear, and concentrates on control, more than freedom.

Agree with lots and use to dig in way further, but he doesn't give a shit about anyone else, but himself.... and/or whoever he is funded by.

If one understands that socialism is not a share-the-wealth program, but is in reality a method to consolidate and control the wealth, then the seeming paradox of super-rich men promoting socialism becomes no paradox at all. Instead it becomes the logical, even the perfect tool of power-seeking megalomaniacs. Communism, or more accurately, socialism, is not a movement of the downtrodden masses, but of the economic elite.
