This sounds screwey to me, but since someone was told this today when he went to change to Republican, I thought I'd post it.
His registrar of voters worker told him that since government holidays include: christmas day, new years day and MLK day, the real date to change is Dec. 7th.
Whether this is right or not illustrates the point: Go now and make sure you have proof!
Sooner rather than later is always better.
