If not for donut breaks, they'd have actually been in the car!

If no one was in the car why assault charges? One thing is for sure is it was not a cop driving the dump truck because if it was there would not be any charges.

He's lucky it isn't murder.

After all, that poor, brave cop car was totaled. Poor thing will never, ever be driven again.

Well if you can assault a police dog, why can't you assault a police car? If these cars had had artificial intelligence the driver would have justly been charged with murder. Expect that once cops are replaced with androids, machines will have more rights than humans.

But, as Yertle, the Turtle King, lifted his hand And started to order and give the command, That plain little turtle below in the stack, That plain little turtle whose name was just

, Decided he'd taken enough. And he had. And that plain little lad got a bit mad. And that plain little Mack did a plain little thing.

He burped! And his burp shook the throne of the king! And Yertle the Turtle, the king of the trees, The king of the air and the birds and the bees, The king of a house and a cow and a mule... Well, that was the end of the Turtle King's rule! For Yertle, the King of all Sala-ma-Sond, Fell off his high throne and fell Plunk! in the pond!

Don't worry. It will retire on full disability and become a security car. ;)

Hmm. A bit more to the story, from a different news source:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/crime/police-dump-truck-driver-in-custody-after-intentionally-hitting-2-cruisers-in-md/2015/01/07/b6b03c0e-9695-11e4-8005-1924ede3e54a_story.html

Shortly before noon, two patrol officers — who were outside a Costco, planning to refill fluids in the cruisers — had a “brief exchange of words” with the truck driver, said Lt. William Alexander, a police spokesman.

It is unclear what the man said to the officers through the truck window, Alexander said. But the officers believe that it was a “negative conversation,” and they were “alert to the fact that this guy doesn’t seem happy,” Alexander said, although they had done nothing to provoke him.

Shortly after the encounter, the truck crashed into the parked cruisers, coming to rest on one of them and crumpling its rear end, Alexander said. Then, he said, the driver got out of the truck and confronted the officers.

“His initial stance is very aggressive, coming out of that dump truck, and his intention was likely to attack the officers,” Alexander said. He said the officers “showed great restraint, and they were able to arrest the driver without incident.”

Police have not released the driver’s name.

A "brief exchange of words" eh? I can imagine:

COP: "Hey! HEY!! You can't park there! Get that G--D--- truck off this lot!"

DRIVER: "I park here all the time and no one's ever complained. I'm just stopping to buy a few things."

COP: "I'm not telling you again! I'm giving you an order. Get off this lot!"

Frankly, if things went down the way I expect they did, the dump truck driver showed an amazing amount of restraint.

Just the cars? Nobody was in them? I don't see the problem. The government has no property rights. Not guilty.

Now it's "attempted murder" charges! WTF??? seriously.... WTF?!?!?

Youtube video of the incident. After reading the story that accompanied this video and seeing the clip, I'm more sure than ever this was one of those "get that thing outta here!" sort of encounters.

Edit: The impact comes at approximately 1:14 on the video

GLENARDEN, Md. (WUSA9) -- The driver of a dump truck that struck two Prince George's County Police cruisers in Glenarden on Wednesday morning has been charged with attempted murder, say police officials.

Gene Thomas Brandon Jr. is accused of intentionally hitting the cruisers in the parking lot of the Woodmore Town Center shopping center at 11:35 a.m. The police cars were empty at the time.

Police released video of the incident on Thursday, the same day the announced the charges against Brandon.

In the video you see the truck approach, stop briefly, then pass the cruisers one way. The truck then comes back the other way, headed directly towards the cruisers. It hits and pushes the cruisers for some distance. To the right, you see what appears to be two people who were next to the cruisers run away.

Meanwhile, yesterday a cop shooting at a dog killed a woman -- and he won't even be seeing manslaughter charges.

Not as long as those who resist the goons get charged with attempted murder for running over a couple of empty vehicles.:mad::mad:
