It's funny to hear statists repeating the authoritarian mythology that says that the reason there have been ruling classes over most of the world throughout most of history is because "we" decided to get together to form a "government" to protect us. Really? Exactly when were YOU consulted about that plan? I don't recall the town meeting where "WE" all said, "Yeah, let's have a ruling class!" And it didn't happen when the Constitution was being ratified either. A tiny handful of people pretended to give THEMSELVES the right to rule, without the consent or knowledge of most of the people. That's how every "country" came into being. And yet the true believers in the cult of "government" continue to pretend that it was some consensual idea and agreement among the general population. Nice joke.

Slave: "Yeah, we built this plantation, so we would have a place to work."
Freeman: "Wait, YOU did that?"
Slave: "Not me personally. But the workers as a whole decided that."
Freeman: "When did that happen? And how?"
Slave: "We chose a plantation owner to lead us."
Freeman: "You DECIDED to be slaves?"
Slave: "What? We're not slaves! We're free! We're in charge here!"
Freeman: "They steal what you produce, and whip you if you disobey!"
Slave: "Well there have to be rules, or there would be chaos!"
Freeman: "Why don't you try real freedom, instead?"
Slave: "Show me one plantation around here that doesn't do it this way!"
Freeman: "Evil doesn't become good just because everyone is doing it."
Slave: "This is how things have always been, and will always be."
Freeman: "Wrong on both counts, but why are you so scared of freedom?"
Slave: "If we didn't do things this way, someone might ENSLAVE us!"
Freeman: "Gack."
