It was a sea of blue. They said cops from all over the country came to attend. Wonder who paid for that. Wonder how many NYC banks are being robbed right now... Looked like the entire police force was there.

I can't find a pic, but the NYPD did a low level formation flyover in 8-12 helo's over a heavy crowd.

It became quite clear that these pilots have never done formation flying before as they absolutely sucked at it. I'm seriously surprised they didn't create a mass casualty event.

But they did bring all the trimmings. Extra video cameras, snipers, bomb sniffing dogs - the works! They also shut down traffic for blocks.

What a cluster fuck!

Sorry the officer died, but this was a police state dog and pony show. A total cluster fuck. I'm seriously surprised people didn't die.

It is a show to basically say : our lives are more valuable than all other deaths. Normal people wouldn't want a circus made out of their loved ones funeral service. Notice that people who are families of victims such as Newton and other places like Aurora...their funeral processions were not televised or turned into circuses, thank the unions for their politicizing of funerals. Did eric garner receive a funeral like this? Would the police show up to eric garners funeral in the hundreds if requested to honor him? I doubt it.

It's a show of force, to remind people just how seriously they take cop killing.

For law & order & this excellent status quo we have to survive, there has to be zero doubt in the minds of the masses, that any cop killer will be dealt with swiftly, severely, and with overwhelming force, and with the full support and endorsement of 'the public'.

Otherwise people may get ideas, and we wouldn't want that.

From the other side of the discussion, it is vital that the State make laws that create a framework for liberty. A man dying in the streets over abusive taxation is a failure of the State, making the officer responsible (although, why he didn't walk away is beyond me). Gangbangers killing innocent children in drive-bys is a failure of law enforcement.

Cops don't randomly kill people for recreation. They are acting as agents of the State. When there are failures, it is the fault of the State. This is why the role of government can't be ignored. When government makes oppressive law that reqire excessive force to enforce, it is likely an overreach of the State.
