We all know that the Republican party has gone through an evolution in the past 6 years, making a major move towards libertarianism, freedom, and individual rights. This re branding has earned them major victories with the electorate, by giving voters what they are actually craving.

And now the Bush/Cheney crowd is out on the media campaign trail, trying to undo all that. In an attempt to sucker loyal Republicans back into defending hard core NeoCon positions, they are building a media narrative, and inducting themselves back into the fold.

It is clear that they are desperately scrambling to find a candidate for themselves for 2016, to the point they are trying to convince R-Money to run for a third time. Possibly they are setting the stage for Jeb "the anointed one" Bush?

I think we need to expect this "revival" to start ramping up into high gear.

Ha ha! Yes we know what you think george... A Hillary victory would be much better than a Rand Paul Victory.

Like vampires risen from the dead each night, these creatures who shun the light and feast on pain and suffering, are refreshed and ready to take wing again. What they seek is what makes them feel alive and energizes them to want more, and that is war. They are the War Party, and they are Democrats and Republicans. They are columnists and publishers and academics, as well as politicians and publicists. They don’t have much of a mass base: they prefer to work in the shadows, manipulating rather than inspiring. By such Machiavellian means have they managed to stay viable, in spite of the disasters they have wrought through the years – giving them more scope for fresh disasters yet to be imagined.

W in campaign mode and pre 9/11 sounded pretty much like Rand today. Just saying.

The GOP's shift toward libertarianism has been largely rhetorical. I seriously doubt Republicans are going to try to shrink the government in the event of a GOP dominated government. Republicans have been doing this since Nixon; free market rhetoric when the Dems are in office, GOP takes power and grows the government to new heights. No Republican administration has shrunk the size of government in the post-WW2 era. Some of the biggest expansions in state power have been under GOP leadership. I'd like to think the Reps have changed, but I'll believe it when I see it.

An endorsement from W would probably hurt Jeb's chances. If he wants his brother to succeed he'll stay far away from the 2016 race. Personally, I hope he gets intimately involved and everyone is reminded of why the Bush dynasty sucks.

Marxist Media pushing the ringers early... duh

Even the Steve "the propagandist" Holland at Reuters is a long establishment hack of Washington DC. I wonder where his table and seat are at the inside the DC beltway parties?

I have a feeling that the primary debates will look and sound like a repeat of 2007 for the Republicans. The difference being it will be Rand in place of Ron and Jeb in place of McCain.

I see virtually no change in the Republican party platform. Some may pay lip-service to libertarian ideas, but this is typically as far as they're willing to go.

They need more ISIS and more boogey men before people will start following the Bush/Cheney train.

No, unfortunately, they need more proof those boogeymen are real.

I don't know if I hope we've exposed the fact that the created one before, on 9/11, will keep them from creating more "proof", or if I hope they kill enough more people to send Americans down their throats football cleats first.
