Not directly related to RP, although I need problems solved to make more DVDs. Any Ubuntu experts out there? I can't get my sound to work on a Toshiba L35-2366. I just switched from Vista yesterday. Please Pm me. Thanks

Have you tried asking around the ubuntu community? From what I hear, they are very helpful.

Not but I just registered. I looked up similar topics, tried one fix, it made things worse. I'm checking my mail now to finish the registration.

Is it safe to assume that you're a Linux noobie?

Thank you! I got that solved and the video issue. Now I have one minor thing, with the DVD player. Minor because it at least plays. I just can't seem to get the menu to interact. It's no biggie as I am sure those I know would probably view it on Windows, if not on their TV. Tomorrow I'll attempt to write a DVD :)

By "DVD player," do you mean your computer, or a standalone player connected to your TV? If you're using your computer, what program is playing the DVD?
