Sessions: House GOP Is On the Verge Of Breaking 2014 Campaign Promises (http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/393815/sessions-house-gop-verge-breaking-2014-campaign-promises-joel-gehrke)
By Joel Gehrke - December 2, 2014

Senator Jeff Sessions (R., Ala.) suggested that House Republicans are on the verge of breaking their campaign promise to fight President Obama’s administrative amnesty, judging by the legislative text currently being circulated.

Sessions said that the proposed language “fails to meet [the] test” established by Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus, who promised earlier this year that the GOP would do everything possible to thwart Obama’s executive orders.
...
“Congress must respond to the president’s unlawful action by funding the government but not funding illegal amnesty,” Sessions said. “This is a perfectly sound and routine application of Congressional authority. In fact, the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service reports that last year’s omnibus spending bill included 16 such funding restrictions on fee-based programs.”

To those inclined to worry that using the spending power would backfire on Republicans, Sessions suggested that economic populism would lead to a GOP victory.

“Polling shows voters believe that Americans should get preference for available jobs by almost a 10–1 margin,” Sessions said. “Republicans should not be timid or apologetic, but mount a bold defense of struggling Americans.”

MSM Polling:

Do you support a congressional confrontation with Obama possibly leading to a Government shutdown?

yes(Move along)

No(You want to starve hungry children and pollute the rivers. Im giving your details to the SEIU and 50 union thugs will be on your doorstep)

Do you support Immigration Reform?

yes(move along)

no (Im passing your details on to La Raza and 50 illegals will be on your doorstep harassing your family and property).

Establishment solution: "Don't help a man to fish, throw him an extra fish-head instead." Welfare, food stamps, EBT, extended UI, Obamacare...there's a long term solution.

Well, from what I've seen, the GOP establishment politicians don't want to do anything bold, so they're gonna go a long with it.

Mainstream republicans here in Georgia have caved on immigration because they keep foolishly believing that giving immigrants what they want is gonna garner political support even though Reagan's actions proved otherwise. Now all you hear about is 'changing demographics' blah blah blah, which is probably true, but it still doesn't win you any votes at the ballot box; Reason being: Democrats ALSO support amnesty and as a bonus, they have it in their platform to give away free stuff. You can't beat that unless you plan to act just like them.

In other breaking news: water is wet and 2 plus 2 equals 4 ...

The Republicans don't merely "plan to act just like them" - they already do "act just like them."
So that's not their problem. Their problem is that they are two-faced liars who pretend otherwise.

As lousy as they are, at least the Democrats aren't mealy-mouthed hypocrites on the "give away free stuff" issue ...

Indeed. There are still some republicans who don't go along with the 'free stuff' campaign promises but they're setting themselves up for a huge disappointment (more like self-inflicted gunshot wound to the foot) if they think all it's gonna take to get immigrant support is a free pass on immigration requirements.

Bunch of scumbags, I knew they'd go along with executive amnesty.

Hopefully the grassroots can stop them from approving a massive new legal immigration bill though, which would be 100 times worse than this amnesty.
