In July of this year, J. Michael Robbins of Downers Grove, Illinois petitioned for an order of protection in DuPage County on behalf of his father, Joseph Robbins. The petition was filed to protect his father from his own grandson, David M. Robbins. David also happens to be J. Michael Robbins’ son.
Why on earth would anyone call the cops on their own son? Surely, he must have done something terrible.
Think again.
The father petitioned for protection after he discovered that his son was giving his grandfather cannabis oil four times a day, in an attempt to help his grandfather’s prostate cancer. Many young people don’t even visit their grandparents as their lives fill up with distractions, but it appears that David Robbins was not only visiting, but trying to help his grandfather. It is apparent that J. Michael Robbins did not see it as help.
