I've been thinking about what kind of immigration reforms could be politically viable.

The following is not my preferred solution, but I think it would be an improvement. Do you agree?

1. Decrease legal immigration
2. People here already get permanent legal residence but no citizenship
3. No welfare for any non-citizens
4. Increase border security

Vote in the poll.

Thanks

The no welfare clause is duh and makes total sense so of course it won't happen.
Why decrease legal immigration while allowing no amnesty? It seems you just want to encourage law breaking by not giving an inch at all.

Funny story about law breaking and immigration: When the founders immigrated here, they got off a boat and were British citizens. Then they broke the law to become US citizens.

I would add an end to birthright citizenship.

You need a method of verifying who the current illegals are who will be allowed to stay and then crack down on new ones otherwise it will happen all over again.

I could go for this I think.
