View Full Version : Could Illegal Immigration Open the Door to a Populist-Nationalist Movement?

This has been something that I've been thinking about for a while and Obama's forthcoming executive action on illegal immigration--especially in the aftermath of THIS (http://www.nbcnews.com/business/economy/one-30-american-children-homeless-report-says-n250136) being released--has prompted me to make this thread and see what everyone here thinks.

As we look across the Atlantic, we see the rise of the UKIP in the United Kingdom and the National Front in France--two insurgent movements that can partly contribute their rise to the majorities dissatisfaction with the influx of immigration into their home nations. I've always held the belief that Europe has always been a couple of years ahead of the United States politically, and right now the population in these said European nations have finally grown to be fed-up with the constant stream of immigration that floods their nation. This begs the question: Can the same thing happen in the United States?

Firstly, most Americans believe in the idea of "American Exceptionalism," thus creating a fertile ground for a nationalist movement to plant their seeds of populism within the consciousness of a population. This appeal could easily be made by pointing out that the current ruling class panders and goes out of their way to help those who aren't even American citizens, yet they refuse to go out of their way to help the actual citizens. The link above would take you to the report that lists the startling statistic that 1 out of every 30 American children are homeless, yet the ruling class is more concerned with helping children who crossed the border illegally, and even want to place some of this illegal immigrants in five-star resorts! (http://www.breitbart.com/blog/2014/07/16/obama-gives-50-million-to-brownshirt-charity-group-to-open-illegal-immigrant-resort-spa-in-texas/)

This appeal could also gain traction within the African-American community. (http://www.nationalreview.com/article/382338/black-americans-true-casualties-amnesty-j-delgado) They're the ones who would feel the greatest amount of harm of amnesty, and the ruling class is once again leaving them out in the cold. With the right kind of rhetoric and political environment, I see the potential for the formation of a coalition of White and Black American voters if the United States continues down its current path of decadence.

I do concede that this kind of movement has the potential to be dangerous, as such is the case with any kind of populist-nationalist movement if the wrong person comes to power through it. Regardless, I posted this to see if I am the only one who feels that this kind of movement has the possibility to come into existence in the next few years. Also, if such a movement forms and gains a fair amount of traction, could you see them eventually winning power?

Tl;dr:
* A Populist/Nationalist Movement gains traction in the next few years due to the ruling class pandering to illegal immigrants and ignoring actual Americans.
* Essentially, this movement would be the American equivalent of the United Kingdom's UKIP and France's National Front (under Marine Le Penn; not her father).
* This movement eventually builds a coalition of White and Black American voters.
* Could they win?

It's possible that it is already happening. Despite dire warnings from the establishment that anything other than amnesty will alienate voters (as if they cared about average Americans and voters), many candidates and issues that went against that establishment line won.

For example:

Oregon license vote illustrates divide on immigration (http://www.santafenewmexican.com/news/oregon-license-vote-illustrates-divide-on-immigration/article_51789944-392a-54d5-930f-f78d59adacb7.html)

Oregon license vote could be warning for Obama

PORTLAND, Ore. — The fate of a little-noticed ballot measure in strongly Democratic Oregon serves as a warning to President Barack Obama and his party about the political perils of immigration policy.

Even as Oregon voters were legalizing recreational marijuana and expanding Democratic majorities in state government, they decided by a margin of 66-34 to cancel a new state law that would have provided driver’s licenses to people who are in the United States illegally.

On Tuesday night, Oregon voters killed a ballot initiative that would have allowed undocumented immigrants in the state to apply for driver’s licenses. The ballot initiative known as Measure 88 would have given four-year driver’s licenses to undocumented immigrants “without requiring proof of legal presence in the United States” and died with a vote of 68 -33 percent.

Our rulers are shipping in immigrants as fast as they can from all four corners of the globe to prevent this exact thing. It's one of the oldest strategies of empire, dilute all nationalities within said empire until they are no longer a cohesive unit capable of resistance.

I don't think it will matter how many immigrants that allow into our nation. It's only a matter of time before Americans realize what letting a constant stream of illegal immigrants is doing to the United States. As Brian4Liberty linked above, it is already happening somewhat in the liberal stronghold of Oregon. The government can barely take care of their own citizens, yet the federal government allow millions more to enter illegally and end up treating those much better than they treat their own citizens. Americans of all races are either starving, looking for work, are homeless, etc, and yet they wanted to provide a five-star resort for illegal aliens before they withdrew their bid.

If there is one thing that can (somewhat) heal the racial tension that still exists between White and Black Americans, it's them uniting (at least temporarily) to kick out the current establishment that is selling out the Republic--and the nation that some of their forefathers gave their lives for--beneath their feet. If this happens, everything that the establishment and the globalists have worked for over the last century will be incinerated.

Is that why there are actually FEWER illegal immigrants in the country than there were in 2007?

Article from this week: http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-immigration-pew-study-20141118-story.html

A new report shows that in recent years, six Western states -- Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Oregon -- saw declines in “unauthorized immigrants” entering the country illegally.

Seven states -- five of them in the East -- saw increases in the number of immigrants residing in the country illegally: Florida, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Idaho and Nebraska.

It also tracked the population over time, finding the national population of such immigrants basically unchanged in recent years but some state numbers changing significantly.

Other states with decreases during the period are in the South (Alabama, Georgia and Kentucky), the Midwest (Illinois, Indiana and Kansas) and the Northeast (Massachusetts and New York).

Researchers found that the population of “unauthorized immigrants" grew dramatically from 1990 to 2007 but has since slowed, with growth flat from 2009 to 2012, leaving a total of more than 11 million nationwide.

The recent decreases were mostly due to a drop in the number of such immigrants arriving from Mexico, the Pew analysis found. The exception was Massachusetts, where the decrease was due to a decline in the number of immigrants from other countries.

In 2007, the estimated number was 13 million. Today it is 11 million.

If we are going to waste money.. we might as well waste money on Americans and not Illegal Immigrants or on people the other side of the globe.

1. Polls suggest that a large majority is in favor of legalization.

2. The minority who oppose legalization is largely anti-libertarian in key respects (basing this on my own anecdotal evidence): e.g. on foreign policy. As you can imagine, hostility toward immigrants easily translates into hostility towards Arabs, Chinese, or whatever other foreign boogeymen the John McCains are jabbering about. They also tend to be economic nationalists hostile to free trade, supporters of the police state, and supporters of the drug war. Basically, "teocons."

3. The libertarian position is unlimited immigration (sans welfare of course).

I never said anything about legal or illegal, both are being used to the same end.

Labels are becoming blurred. I'll just wrap them up in one big bow called "exceptionalism" as we move forward. Or perhaps "acceptionalism" would be a better term.

Yes, and this is more of the same fueling the fire of the tipping point for distrust in Govt come fall 2015. From fall 2015 to the 2016 election, someone, maybe Rand, will rise up as a third party candidate.

Well it looks like youve got your work cut out for you, eliminating the welfare state and all. Let me know when youve accomplished it, until then Ill just keep opposing amnesty and wanting big reductions in legal immigration too.
