CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Police Department suspended six officers after a months-long internal investigation into charges of loitering and gambling while on the job at the Marathon gas station on St. Clair Avenue.
Other charges for the officers include leaving the assigned zones they were supposed to patrol without permission and then filing false duty reports about where they were.
A spokesperson for Cleveland Police Patrolman's Association confirmed that a months-long investigation found officers allegedly leaving zones they were supposed to patrol, without permission.
The investigation also focused on an east side Marathon gas station, where the officers left with water, coffee and lottery tickets that were not paid for.
All six officers remain suspended, but final disciplinary action has not been finalized. :D
WKYC has filed a public records request with the Cleveland Police Department and expect to hear back from them soon.
