View Full Version : So, how much freedom will we have restored two years from now?

By all accounts from the media I am watching, a major shift in DC power has taken place.

The only metric that I care about is freedom.

So, how much will be restored in two year's time?

You wonder if the people in power will ever recognize that the current trend line doesn't bode well for their health? There could be gradual defections here and there as we reach the crucible.

-5.278 Rothbards, in absolute terms.

In relative terms, the US will probably slide a few more spots down Cato's freedom indexes.

Ask that question again and you will be reported. That's how much freedom you have.. Now shut the fuck up and go back to watching the pretty ladies on TV explain it to you.

I figure that if it is flying, it's not a real zero. I think that there are only 2 or 3 left flying in the world. Somewhere, I got the impression that most of the flying examples are modified AT-6's.

Well. I agree with you whole heartedly. I suppose the more relevant way to ask the question would be freedom for whom? The good guys or the bad guys?

Personally, I see America anxiously moving toward a different wrong track. Will see, I suppose.

I understand what you see. And I also have a bad feeling about it. I'm a bit put-off by many of the things that I see happening, the memes.

But, it is up to us, and not all of us agree completely but perhaps many of us do fundamentally. It is up to us to keep speaking out, so that others cannot unhear, as Ron said.

I have seen a few glimpses of hope from conversations with others. Just a little knowledge or some idea here and there. Then, I see those that I have spoke with, without force or condemnation, begin to speak similarly in posts and comments.

Love them, speak to their hearts, and they will listen. Pound and condemn and accuse, and they will wholeheartedly turn away.

We will hold ground on the Second Amendment. We will lose ground everywhere else.

Now that freedom is going to be restored, I'm going to invest in freedom fries and those little yellow ribbon stickers that people put on the backs of cars that encourage people to support our troops.

Maybe worthy of a thread of it's own, but now that the election is over, I'm pretty sure that we will be able to smell the freedom coming from the peace bombs that the freedom warriors are going to set off all over Ferguson. We can put all that silly talk behind us about demilitarizing the police now that the Reds are in charge.

Media talking point for the next few days: This election was not only a repudiation of the Obama presidency, it was also a repudiation of the radical Tea Party fringe of the party.

I think Rand will get some good legislation through. Republicans will try and get rid of Obamacare and fail. Attempt at immigration reform that will fail because of Republican infighting.

We will hold ground on the Second Amendment. We will lose ground everywhere else.

Don't see much good it will do when people don't understand the purpose of the 2nd Amendment and think their guns are just relics for a curio cabinet. And hunting or shooting clays.

I actually had a guy I used to shoot with tell me one day that he thinks its crazy that GA was contemplating allowing guns to be carried in churches even if the church leaders didn't mind.

The 2nd Amendment is still far from safe.

Was watching the neocon talking head parade on the morning news shows, and this is exactly what will happen and what they are crowing about.

Hard line against Russia.

Hard line against Assad.

Hard line against Iran.

"Stamp out" IS.

Of rolling back the Surveillance State, of restoring or protecting individual liberties, of shrinking the size, scope and power of government, not a fucking peep.

What Will Republican Control of the Senate Mean?

Laurence M. Vance

For the first time since 2006, Republicans have control of the Senate (or at least they will at the beginning of the year). What will Republican control of the Senate, and therefore total control of the Congress, mean? As someone who has studied the actions of the Republican Party for over 20 years—including the legislation they have passed or helped to pass, the bills they have introduced that did not pass, the speeches Republicans have made, the Party Platforms they have adopted, and the budgets they have proposed—I can say without hesitation that it will mean absolutely nothing. They will continue to spend, spend, spend, bomb, bomb, bomb, tax, tax, tax, and regulate, regulate, regulate. Watch them for the next two years and try to prove me wrong. I will be watching them like a hawk
