Who coulda knowed?

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said Monday it is “a mistake to arm” vetted Syrian rebels to counter the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
"It’s a mistake to arm them. Most of the arms we’ve given to the so-called moderate rebels have wound up in the hands of ISIS, because ISIS simply takes it from them, or it’s given to them, or we mistakenly actually give it to some of the radicals," Paul said on CBS's "This Morning."

It was not by design, for sure.

Why US can't have same policy as that of our closest ally and the most experienced nation in war-on-terrorism. Israel says it is too soon to attack ISIS and US is making mistake and should attack enemies of ISIS.

West making big mistake in fighting ISIS, says senior Israeli officer

IDF Northern Command officer says he thinks the U.S.-led coalition intervened too early against the Sunni militants, and 'not necessarily in the right direction.'

A senior Northern Command officer said Thursday that the Western coalition is making a big mistake in fighting against ISIS.
The coalition forces' attacks against the Islamic State support the "radical Shi'ite axis," the unnamed officer said. "A strange situation has been created in which the United States, Canada and France are on the same side as Hezbollah (http://www.haaretz.com/misc/tags/Hezbollah-1.476768), Iran and Assad. That doesn't make sense," he said.

It was easier to deal with terrorism in its early stages [ISIS (http://www.haaretz.com/misc/tags/Islamic%20State-1.610350)] than to face an Iranian threat and the Hezbollah, he said. "I believe the West intervened too early and not necessarily in the right direction," he said.

The unnamed officer said the Iranian presence in Syria is increasing, but neither Iran nor Syria has in interest in starting a war against Israel. He predicted that Assad's regime would last for several more years of "ups and downs" before crumbling completely.

TOW anti-tank missiles

Well that's strange... The US is ostensibly arming the "moderates" to fight ISIS. Since when did ISIS have tanks?

O, that's right, they took the one's we gave to the Iraqis!

This reminds me of the tale of the man who had a rat problem in his house. So he released some snakes to eat the rats. But then he had a snake problem. So he released some mongooses to eat the snakes. But then he had a mongoose problem, so he released a wolf to eat the mongooses. And then he didn't have any problems anymore, because the wolf ate him.
