View Full Version : Would Rand Look Good Bald?

Rick Scott successfully won with a shaved head in Florida, and none of the problems he's been having in his re-election campaign revolve around his hair. We fret a lot on these forums about Rand's styling. Would fully shaved be a viable solution? Or maybe even a short buzz cut with a beard ala Steve Jobs? Maybe someone with good photoshop skills could do some mock ups?

Fully shaved though, or fully buzzed all around. Like the guy who played Dr. Ernst-Günther Schenck in "Downfall".

Rick Scott is actually being called a robot, part of it probably having to do with his round bald head.

The hair is a selling point as far as I'm concerned. It's distinctive. It makes him a non-conformist.

I agree, no one accuses his hair of conforming.

Voldemort and Skeletor are the two comparisons I hear more often in Florida, but the point is, it hasn't hurt him and on some level I feel it has helped. Now, one thing I do worry about the combination of bald and short. Most successful bald guys are at least 5'10 or taller.

Almost nobody looks good bold. Unless you are going for the mad scientist look which only works in bald head. Scalp hair is the icing on the cake that is the human head.

No. He just needs to keep it groomed. When your head is bald and you get nervous and sweaty it gets shiny. Do you really want the lights on a debate stage reflecting off his head?

I find his hair to be awesome, I wish I was lucky enough to have hair like his. Shave it?! I'm sure if I really put my mind to it that I could come up with a worse suggestion; but it would take some effort.

It might be worth it though, how else will you get the MSM to have headlines say:

Rand Paul shines in debate!

Telly Savalas, Michael Jordan, Patrick Stewart, Woody Harrelson, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Bruce Willis, Jesse Ventura, Jason Statham- plenty of guys look fantastic bald. The question is whether Rand could pull it off.

A Mohawk would clinch the Presidency for Rand, which would be partially bald.

Just about everyone on your list would look better with full head of hair. Then again I said almost nobody looks good bald which still leaves room that some people looking good bald. There are always exceptions to any rule when you humans are involved. Heck, some people with cancer can live longer than their doctors without treatment. Shit happens :)

No and he doesn't need the Romney side-part either. People that get hung up on his hair will look back on that opinion and realize they were behind the times. That's how fashion works.

I can already see it now. Rand's hair will be a rallying point. There will be wigs, campaign signs and online memes. TV commercials with just the silhouette

Without a doubt, the newspaper political cartoonists will have something to key on so they should get behind his candidacy!

Interesting point for those on this board too young to remember or even know: The cartoonists made good natured fun of JFK's hair.
