Tea Party 2007 - Something more that just contributions is brewing!
See this PDF: h ttp://hoo.la/f/2ZG9N_sendtea.pdf
An idea began brewing in the early morning hours of Dec 1 and it was determined that the TEA was the missing ingredient for the Tea Party. After percolating through the idea on RonPaulForums.com, the group perfected and served up what is listed below.
Snail mail teabags to:
1) President
2) V.P
3) Members of Congress (at least your reps)
4) B.S. Bernanke (ha ha)
Notes:
1) The envelopes just contain Tea bags ONLY; the tea protest is the message
2) DO use your own return address. They are obligated to open mail from their constituents.
3) Start sending December 10th through December 13th.
4) Send as many parcels as you can.
The act of sending hundreds of thousands of teabags to Washington should help get publicity for Dec 16. Even if this particular idea is not your cup of tea please forward this idea to others.

Interesting idea, but will the Washington, DC think this is an anthrax attack?
What about sending to State Legislators?

Ron Paul is ok with states rights. I think focusing on the federal government is best.
And enough with the anthrax stuff. LOL!
It's tea sent in time for the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party. Send your media a heads up and it'll be reported as such.

Though I think this is a creative idea, some loose cannon can easily derail the idea.
I am a bit wary of this.
I cannot back it. Too risky.

I have to agree with you. MSM will do anything to make this look like an "attack", and may end up hurting us more than helping.

This is a pointless and potentially risky idea.
Please do not do this.

Bullshit, I'm doing it.
It sends a message, the kind that reminds me of waking up to a horses head...

OMG!! OH NOES!! http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2004-11/893011/OMFG-ONOZ.gif
What if someone SHOOTS the blimp?
What if people don't Google Ron Paul?
What if the media reports us negatively? (this one in particular always makes me laugh)
What if someone takes Hillary's campaign HQ hostage and.... they're a libertarian!?
What if someone thinks that by using Guy Fawkes day we're supporting a rEVOLution?
What if we don't make $12M by November 30th? We're DOOOOOMED!!
What if what if what if...
OMG!I OH NOES!!! http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2004-11/893011/OMFG-ONOZ.gif

You can't expect them to receive heavy amounts of unmarked substances with no return address and not do anything about it.
We live in a post 9-11 world.
I feel like Rudy saying that, but still.

I think its a sound idea. The more coverage Ron Paul gets the better, and I don't see anyway how the MSM can try to skew teabags as being anthrax or some other substance.

Definitely, better than dumping Tea into the Boston Harbor.... The EPA & Coast Guard would get their knickers in a bunch over that.

I just called my locale post office. I asked if there were any requirements for sending individual packaged teabags in an envelope. He only said that there may be a surge charge for the thickness and I could very price by coming in to the post office. He asked why I was sending individual, “was I advertising something?” I told him to commemorate the Boston Tea Party on Dec 16th. He said, “Oh, that makes sense”.
My Post Office does not have a problem with it. I’m on my way to the post office now to verify price for thickness. It’s a done deal for me.

I'm in. This is a fun idea. Bad publicity, good publicity. If people end up finding out about Ron Paul, that's great. If it is bad publicity, news programs will invite Ron Paul on the show to ask him about the tea bags. He'll pipe in his message of liberty once again.

This could back fire. All they have to do is send 1 letter with "use your imagination here" mixed in with Tea and then RP campaign is over. And anyone could do it. They could spin it that RP supporters are trying to overthrow the government with poison. Hell, we're already labeled terrorists. I wouldn't put it past fredheads or hucksters. There are just too many desperate neo-cons out there right now.
I think we have enough publicity lined up already where we don't need to push our luck.

No tea bags please. Too much downside for very little gain.
Print an image of tag bag like:

I came back from my local post office. I gave them the envelope with the teabag and they confirmed that the single individually wrapped teabag will not cost additional postage due to thickness.

The tea will never arrive... All mail into the federal government at Washington is received off-site and processed. These will get dumped way before they get to anyone important.

So we all need to be scaredy cats, and the government needs to protect us from all the evil terrorists that are trying to attack us with anthrax.
That said, how about sending equivalently sized pieces of paper copied to look like tea bags with a little string attached. If its only paper, then there can be no reason to worry about it.

Do you have a source for this? I had a hunch this could be true, but, then how did the anthrax scare ever transpire?
