KEENE, N.H. (AP) -- Police in New Hampshire are using a relatively new application to collect photos and videos they hope will lead to arrests following weekend chaos at a pumpkin festival.

More than 80 people were arrested after parties got out of hand Saturday in Keene, leading to property destruction and injuries. Police in riot gear used tear gas and pepper balls to control crowds as large as 2,000 people.

Keene police have created a LEEDIR account, or Large Emergency Event Digital Information Repository, where people can send images and videos directly from their smartphones to police.

More than 100 people have already sent files as the investigation by several police agencies continues.

LEEDIR is an online and mobile app that can be activated after a major emergency.

A talebearer reveals secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit conceals the matter.

The prudent keep their knowledge to themselves, but a fool's heart blurts out folly.

The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

Thus says,, one much wiser than me.

Why do I get the feeling that this "riot" was the result of police actions more than even the alcohol?

You can't have a riot without police... and it's easy for police to incite a riot from a large drunk crowd.

Wait till IV has its Halloween party next weekend.. police be crackin down..

www.independent.com/news/2014/oct/23/ivs-halloween-horrors/

Remember the Deltopia riot in IV last spring? The police claimed that a guy who they were pursuing after seeing him in a fight (self defense maybe?) hit an officer over the head with a backpack full of alcohol bottles and cracked his skull open, and that is what started the riot. Turns out they got the incident on video since there were several cameras up and there is no evidence that the kid threw the backpack at the officer... And the backpack only contained one alcohol bottle which was half full.. The officer probably fell and hit his head on the ground or something, I dunno. But they used that as an excuse to clear the streets and start the riot.

Who couldn't see this coming? Someone else said in another thread (paraphrasing) the cops needed this to show the citizens why they need the bearcat.
