You need a licence to own a gun, another licence to transport one and another licence to buy ammo.
there are ~2M gun licences in Canada.
the average gun owner owns 4 guns
there are 10 million guns in Canada (though many think it's closer to 20M)
do the math...
Canada had yet another massive campaign to try and register all guns in the country.
They gave up 2 years ago and destroyed all the records.
The contractor hired to do this is the same one that did healthcare.gov...
15-20 years ago they banned the M1 carbine and ordered their population to turn in for confiscation these very popular guns.
hundreds were turned in. hundreds of thousands were not...
They don't seem to have CCW permits.
Imagine the body count if the shooter had set up shop in that mall or hotel...
To get a gun license you have to go through a 12 hour training class but are not allowed to actually fire a single round.
In this country, they at least make sure you can hit the side of a barn.
If only the US gvmt could learn from this experience...
