I don't think this has been posted. A video of a cop calling two dogs to come to him, tails wagging, then he blasts at least one (probably both).

And what will happen to him? Nothing, not in his Just Us system ...

If it's true these dogs had "cornered" people in a car that 's not good -- but this doesn't seem the way to handle the situation (like shooting on sight a guy in a Walmart holding an air rifle, when he's leaning on it and facing away from you).

Cleburne police investigating after video shows officer coaxing, shooting dog

Cleburne police are investigating after a video circulated online of one of its officers coaxing a dog toward him before shooting it.

The short video, taken from a body camera’s perspective, shows a man’s arms wielding a handgun while the officer summons two dogs toward him.

As the animals approached with their tails wagging, the officer fired several times. As one of the dogs fell to the ground, the officer, who has not been identified, took aim at the second dog.

The video ends abruptly, before showing what happened to the other dog.

Although the video shows that the animals were not being aggressive when they were shot, Cleburne police have said the officer was responding to a 911 call for assistance after several dogs cornered residents in a vehicle.

“The city is obviously concerned about the video showing an officer shooting a dog,” the city said in a written statement. “As is often the case, the short video does not tell the whole story.”

One of the dogs was secured safely, but one of the others became aggressive before animal control personnel arrived, according to the statement.

The Police Department said it would interview any witnesses and review its policies.

“The city of Cleburne takes the safety of our residents, their pets, and our officers seriously,” the statement said.

Nothing will happen unless someone makes something happen. There is that saying about evil existing because good men doing nothing. It applies here. If you're a dog owner, then there is absolutely no way you can let this happen. Absolutely no way.

Next missive from the police dept....

The cop is a "big animal lover" lover. "We all have pets." "It's tragic."

Funny thing....I don't see a vehicle with "pinned" occupants. Unless the car is in the drainage pipe.

Off the cuff... looks like a Springfield 1911 Range Officer 5 w/ aftermarket 3 dot sight and 15 round extended magazine; weighty piece... in 9mm should be low recoil.
