To bring some attention to the overly political and increasingly flawed nature of awards in US politics, this question is raised.

Who has caused more harm to peace in the world and lesser worthy of a peace award, Obama or OJ Simpson?

Poll: Majority Of Americans Think Obama Isn’t Worthy Of Nobel Peace Prize

10/10/2014
A new poll from Rasmussen Reports shows that 55 percent of Americans believe that President Barack Obama does not deserve the Nobel Peace Prize.
Not only does Obama not deserve the global peace award now, but Americans also think that he never should have received it in the first place.
Obama supporters, who think that he still does deserve the award, amount to a paltry 26 percent, and 18 percent of Americans surveyed are still uncertain. However, 89 percent of Republicans and 22 percent of Democrats are in full agreement on this. This poll follows a series of negative polls showing exactly how Americans view the president: indecisive, inept, and easily outmaneuvered.

There are some similarities between the two; both were once seen as "stars" with cult like fan base, skin color has colored public perceptions about both men, and both have been accused of killings... with one of the two tried and acquitted.

For one Buffalo Bills fan, that was by getting a tattoo of NFL Hall of Famer Bills running back O.J. Simpson. Of course, we all know that Simpson was arrested for the alleged murders of Nicole Simpson and Ronald Goldman before being acquitted, but that hasn’t stopped this Bills fan from showing his loyal support.

CNN Political Unit CNN special report – O.J.'s wild ride: 20 years after the chase, Tuesday at 9 p.m. EST

Washington (CNN) - Twenty years after the start of the O.J. Simpson murder case, attitudes towards Simpson and towards race relations in the country have dramatically changed, according to a new national poll.
Monday night's release of the CNN/ORC International survey comes just a few days before 20th anniversary of the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson, the former football star and actor's ex-wife, and of Ronald Goldman. The case against Simpson and the ensuing more than eight-month-long criminal trial, dubbed the "trial of the century," engrossed the nation. Simpson was eventually acquitted.

According to CNN polling in 1994, a large majority of whites thought Simpson was guilty, but six in ten African-Americans believed that the charges against Simpson were not true, a belief that persisted throughout the murder trial and its aftermath.

Twenty years later, the new CNN/ORC poll indicates there has been a turnaround in attitudes towards the former football star, with a majority of blacks (53%) now saying that the murder charges against Simpson were true.
