"BARTLETT, Tenn. (FOX13) - UPDATE: Bartlett Police have identified 63- year-old Danny Floyd as the driver of the vehicle involved in a traffic collision with a Bartlett Police patrol car yesterday afternoon on Stage Road. 49-year old Michelle D. Sloyan was identified as a passenger in Mr. Floyd's car.
Both Floyd and Sloyan suffered fatal injuries and died as a result of the crash.
Police say preliminary reports indicate the police car was traveling eastbound on Stage Road when it collided with another car waiting to turn southbound onto Bartlett Boulevard.
The Bartlett Police Officer was not dispatched to a call at the time of the accident. The officer suffered minor injuries and is off work due to the injuries. He has been with the department since 2008.
There are no video cameras at the intersection, only optical traffic sensors that indicate when the traffic lights need to change. Investigators are working to review dash cam video of the accident, which could not initially be ejected from the police cruiser because of the condition of the car."
