After telling my Mom, a self-described Bill Clinton Democrat, for months now about Ron Paul, it took the CNN interview with Wolf Blitzer today to change her mind in favor of voting for Ron Paul.

Lucky. Just had a fight with my mother about Ron Paul. She's still a sheep and she still supports Clinton. One day I will get her to change her mind.......

My mom felt the same way. She was saying she never heard of Ron Paul and was hesitant to support him, even though she agreed with him on most of the issues. It's strange/sad how much the tv influences people...

People are hypnotized by television in America. Seriously, it is a form of hypnosis to sit there and watch it blankly according to my psyche professor thats a hypnotist lol.

People become obsessed with what the media tells them subconsiously I think. Most people are in some dreamworld where the media is 100% factual and that there are no people involved in reporting the information that have personal biases. Kind of the same way they think about the government too, like its not a group of people trying to benefit themselves.....:rolleyes:

Thats another reason the internet is good because it gets people out of the media's control. The internet offers both directions of bias on subjects and occasionally unbiased information on a subject, so you can see something from all sides unlike the media.

I don't know why it is but people think the media tells them what everyone else is thinking, and then they believe whatever the media says the public is thinking really is what the public is thinking. And then for some reason people go along with it and do whatever they think and are told the public is thinking.

It makes no sense why people do that, its mind boggling lol.

WHAT? Why? I mean, I can understand not wanting to support Ron Paul, but why in the heck is she supporting Clinton? It can't be for her positions can it? We hardly know anything about them, she never directly and honestly answers a question. She has shown she can be bought and paid for... she even admitted it. I mean seriously, why would anyone want to vote for Hillary! It just boggles me mind... The United States citizen... wow :o

You can't make anyone change their minds. They have to make that decision themselves. You can help them on that path, but it is really up to the individual to decide if he/she wants his/her mind changed.

:confused:My mother has other type of problem...

Likes Ron Paul, but won't vote in primaries because they ask whether she's a democrat or republican when they hand out that ballots and she thinks that is an invasion of her privacy

Had she seen footage of him before?

Not really because she had never watched the Republican debates because she doesn't like Republicans.

So she was watching CNN and the interview came on and she watched the whole thing. So this was really her first "one on one."

Funny thing is she knows all about Hillary and Rudy's positions. She was mainly leaning towards Hillary because of the Bill connection but I think she finally realized that she's completely unqualified.

Dude, rig her TV to only play the CNN interview 24/7 on every channel. That's get her to switch.

I've had 2 fights with my mom, who supports Rudy, about ron paul this year and we've finally agreed to disagree and I won't ever bring it up again. She watches Fox news and believes every word they say and thinks they hate us for our freedoms and thinks ron paul blames america, blah blah blah. She will never listen to me but if Fox news started changing their tune and simply shed a better light on Paul, suddenly my mom would be in our camp.

A lot of people aren't ready to unplug from the matrix, believe it or not. Until they loose their fear, they will never be free. And what they are feeling is fear...

I got Outfoxed from Netflix, then remailed it to my mom so that she can watch it. Great thing about Netflix is when she's done with it, she just drops it in the mail and it gets back to them.

Anyway, she finally watched it a few days ago, and was blown away. I sent her Hacking Democracy next. Besides being informative, I'm hoping it inspires her to see a regular woman her age deciding to make a difference and doing so.

I'm taking it gradually. In time, she'll be ready for the more scary stuff, like Freedom to Fascism. It's just like in the Matrix - it takes time to unplug.

my mom says he will never win and he's such an underdog and thats why he doesn't get coverage. i informed her that he is pretty far up and the media is biased, but she is set in her apathetic ways. :/

I had been working on my brother a few months ago, then gave up for a bit. The other day I gave him a montage of downloaded youtube videos (flv converted to mpg format). They were Napolitano radio bits, Michael Schuer on Fox News, Ron Paul on CNBC, avaroths "what we choose to ignore" and part of a Regean Speech, an international bankers bit, and a few others. Now, he finally really likes Ron Paul! I'm not exactly sure which video "converted" him but I'll find out this week. Probably just the culmination of them.

The sheep are scared.

They are scared to let go of those who have so long promised to protect them.
They are scared to admit that their leaders are frauds.
They are scared to admit they supported a system that murders and enslaves.
They are scared that they'll have to think for themsleves.
