It's amazing how effective this propaganda is. People are literally having nightmares of the ISIS boogeyman.

I'm not. I haven't had a nighmare in awhile, but if I did, I doubt it would be about ISIS.

Also, Obama is an open universalist, probably closet atheist/state-worshipping tyrant who is guilty of mass murder and theft on a grand scale. He's neither Muslim nor Christian.

This should work out well with their other strategy of bombing Syria to see what happens.

Just think during WW-2 the major propaganda outlets were newspaper and radio...

Yet government was able to stir the populace quite well...

We've learned nothing.....

That's racist!

Oh, wait. I forgot. Obama is incapable of doing anything racist. Just isn't within the realm of worldly possibility because he's almost half black. How could I forget?

I agree with Rand that there should be a moratorium on all student visas from terrorist harboring countries. Completely agree. If that's the choice between arming rebels, I think that's a no brainer.

Did Rand propose this in legislation or in a speech/interview? Would like to read more on his opinion on this do you have a link?

What would the list of countries that harbor terrorist look like, how would you determine this? Would Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan or Russia be considered a "terrorist harboring country"? Perhaps that is not the best language to use to determine which countries would be restricted by the moratorium and which wouldn't?

I'm not necessarily against the idea (right now) although if you are going to do this, I think you would have to include business visas (Saudis aren't going to like that one) and tourist visas as well, considering only one of the 9/11 attackers were on a student visa the rest were business (4) or tourist visas (14). If this is in response to the Boston bombing then the definition of "terrorist harboring countries" would have to be defined, I could see someone making a slippery slope argument here.

Just as a side note from my understanding neither of the Boston bombers where on a student visa, one was a permanent resident the other a naturalized U.S. citizen. It was found out after the fact that friends of the bombers were here on an invalidated student visa although that would not necessarily have prevented the attack, but was nevertheless embarrassing for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Homeland Security.

But getting back to the OP I think the larger discussion here is profiling not of people on visas (or foreigners) but American citizens living here that are of Muslim religion, as mentioned by one of the commentators the case of the Japanese-Americans internments during WW2. Some might say well that is an extreme case, but then the question would be, well what type of special profiling are we talking about that would be applied to American citizens that are also Muslims?

You realize that the United States is a terrorist harboring country? That Cuban terrorists, Chilean terrorists, and a variety of despots fleeing the countries they ravaged were given sanctuary?

Luis Posada and Ferdinand Marcos come to mind but there are many more.
