In this weekend’s edition of jokes that practically write themselves: A South Jersey police SUV crashed into a Dunkin Donuts on Friday morning. Do what you will with that.

We could make the joking suggestion that the officers were upset the store had opened late (it hadn’t — it was actually open), or we could just report that the accident occurred after the police vehicle collided with another car. An unidentified Winslow Township officer suffered minor injuries while the other driver reportedly refused medical treatment.

No one inside the donut shop was injured.

Jersey cops are wimps. Around here they execute a no-knock warrant every morning. And they don't bother with any of the donut shops, either--they go straight to the Daylight Donuts factory.

Seriously, though, the Tulsa County Sheriffs Office is having the same problem. When are the law enforcement agencies going to realize that the Chevrolet Tahoe is on no way shape or form a high-speed design, and continuing to pretend it is will merely lead to more death, injury, damage and heartache?

To be fair, dunkin donuts are as numerous in NJ as indian reservations are in your neck of the woods.

We used to have them. We even have a Krispy Kreme or two, down in those neighborhoods where being able to brag to out-of-state relatives that you went to Krispy Kreme or Starbucks or Jack-in-the-Box is more important to people than having edible consumables and actually liking it...

But Daylight Donuts are actually delicious.

Its more of a surprise that the cops don't drive into them accidentally on a daily basis.

Given how many civilians drive Tahoes and Yukons around here, in addition to the sheriff deputies, it's a wonder all our donut shops aren't drive-ins.

Don't text and drive.
Just say no to driving.
