WASHINGTON (AP) — The Secret Service is coming under intense scrutiny after a man who hopped the White House fence made it all the way through the front door before being apprehended.

President Barack Obama and his daughters had just departed the White House on Friday evening when an intruder scaled the north fence, darted across the lawn and into the presidential residence, where agents nabbed him. The security breach triggered a rare evacuation of much of the White House, with Secret Service officers drawing their guns as they rushed staffers and journalists out a side door.

The man who allegedly made it inside the White House yesterday after jumping a fence was carrying a folding knife - and is an Iraq veteran who had half his foot blown off on duty and now suffers from PTSD, it has been claimed.

Omar J. Gonzalez, 42, was arrested by the Secret Service yesterday after agents claimed he made a dash for the Presidential residence while carrying a three-and-a-half-inch folding knife.
Gonzalez, who is thought to have served 18 years in the military, including three tours in Iraq, and reportedly told Secret Service agents he was convinced 'the atmosphere was collapsing' and that he needed to warn the President.

Did anybody else read that he claimed to only want to 'warn Obama about the dangers of climate change'? Kinda made my false flag detector go off.....

Of course the response to this event is to move the public farther away from the WH and institute checkpoints outside of the WH perimeter. Almost feels like they're preparing for something....

A man jumped over the White House fence just after 6 p.m. Thursday, prompting a lockdown, according to an official with the United States Secret Service. The man was taken into custody by Secret Service Officers. He was seen holding a stuffed Pokemon "Pikachu" doll and wearing clothing related to the animated show.

One witness said that the man refused to heed agent's commands to "get down." The agents had their guns drawn and eventually the man sat down with his knees to his chest. He was then arrested.

The U.S. Secret Service apprehended a different trespasser at the White House in August — a toddler who squeezed through a fence and ended up on the lawn.
