The Federal Bureau of Investigation has fully rolled out a new biometric identification system that includes facial recognition technology.

The FBI, working with the Criminal Justice Information Services Division, says the Next Generation Identification System is now fully operational.

The system is designed to expand biometric identification capabilities across the country and eventually replace the FBI's current fingerprint system.

The system includes two new databases.

One, called Rap Back, enables FBI authorized entities the ability to receive ongoing status notifications of any criminal history reported on specific individuals. The bureau says that it will help law enforcement agencies, probation and parole offices, and others greatly improve their effectiveness by being advised of subsequent criminal activity of persons under investigation or supervision.

The second is called the Interstate Photo System. IPS facial recognition service will provide law enforcement agencies across the country an image-searching capability of photographs associated with criminal identities. The Feds say it is a significant step forward for the criminal justice community in utilizing biometrics as an investigative tool.

This latest phase ois only one portion of the FBI's NGI System. Since phase one was deployed in February 2011, the NGI system has introduced enhanced automated fingerprint and latent search capabilities, mobile fingerprint identification, and electronic image storage.

More than 18,000 law enforcement agencies and other authorized criminal justice partners across the country will have access to the system 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

I bet Skynet has something to do with this. Plus, a lot of people tag their/their friends and family on FB....unfortunately making the regime's efforts much easier. :(

What WE allow is what will continue.

We're already doing everything we can though. We're voting, ... a lot. And some of us have even written letters. What more could you possibly ask of us??

We clearly just need to vote harder, IMO.

Who is this "We", and what do you expect them to do? The regime has all the guns and legal authority. Good luck with your voting, petitioning, and protesting things...but it has no significant history of working.

I think if we just made our petitions a bit more palatable to the general petition reader, the petitions could really do some good. Just change the wording around a bit.

And maybe we should soften up a bit with our strongly worded letters. Maybe some agreeably-written letters would be more effective.

Just thinking out loud. Probably dumb idea, but worth a try right

Must need a better argument, resorting to such tactics.

1) People who vote are not necessarily doing petitions
2) People who are doing petitions are not necessarily voting
3) People who are voting and doing petitions are not necessarily doing nothing else
4) People who don't have confidence voting will ever make a difference can still do it at almost zero cost
5) People who do have confidence voting will sometime make a difference do have history on their side (good people have won elections, laws have been repealed before)
6) Voting and petitioning for redress of grievances are peaceful tools for societal change which cost almost zero. There is no evidence they cause harm.

I think voting works the exact opposite of what it used to. First, they pick a winner. Then they prop up the winner and badmouth everyone else. Often enough that enough people vote for who they are told to vote for makes it appear as if their vote was not force fed to them. It maintains the Illusion of Choice. The choices offered are the BOX that most people can not think outside of. Vote for Romney or vote for Obama. It doesnt matter which one is picked, they still support the Status Quo. Differences between who is picked are cosmetic only. It is the difference between a Turdburger and a Fried Shit Sandwich.

Facial Recognition

Once the tools of surveillance have been put in place, they will be used for what ever purpose the powers that be see fit. Whether its the Navy hacking into citizens computers looking for Kiddie Porn, the Camera in your Cable TV Box designed to show you more effective advertisements, or just monitor you when youre smokin a bowl, the tools become weapons, and those weapons will be turned against the very people they are intended to protect. After all our thrid greatest threat is Terrorists. Our second greatest threat is others. But our first greatest threat is the threat we pose to ourselves, and the only ones who have the authority to protect us from ourselves is the glorious Status Quo.

Surveillance is a tool of Human Farming, and we are the cattle.

The problem with humans is that we imagine our worst fear. Then we start rationalizing what good could
come from merely approaching our worst fear. So, we approach it. And in doing so actualize our worst fear.

First, they pick a winner.

Yeah but 'they' is party people and electoral college and such, and you can be 'them.' Or it's media, and you can apply for that job. Or you can join new media, or trailblaze alternative media.

'They' thinking is just dangerous collectivism that too often leads to apathy.
