California today became the twenty-seventh state to release detailed spreadsheets of equipment state and local police departments have received via the Pentagon's 1033 program.

MuckRock is still processing the data, but transfers to five school district police departments leapt out from the spreadsheet, which California Office of Emergency Services indicates is current as of late June:

One additional school district department — Stockton Unified School District Police — also received equipment from the 1033 program, but no vehicles, weapons or other tactical equipment.

Pre-prison has never been more apparent...

What good is a grenade launcher if you don't have any grenades?

Yeah, no shit. Really scary. If I had a kid they'd never be in a school-prison. I guess all the space will come in handy for FEMA camp processing someday.

I would imagine the intended use is tear gas. Seems unlikely that a riot would develop so fast that LAPD or etc. wouldn't be able to respond, though.

Well, you know how it is when kids decide to cross the street without the crossing guard.

I imagine the intended use would be chemical weapons on the citizenry .Cops like stuff like that .

I could be wrong but I think they can also be used to launch teargas rounds.

Do your homework, or else, Grenade / Rocket Launcher / Tank! No spitwads for mundanes, punishable by execution with much much larger weapons. How are schools not prisons again, someone care to remind me? How do they not teach Fear of pissing off Authority as one of their primary lessons? Why cant kids read again? Why dont we just eliminate all Teachers and Principals and let the fucking COPS teach school?

They also make great "non-lethal" direct-fire weapons too -- "oopsie, didn't mean to hit you in the face with that."

That's perfect. Summary execution for being late to class, not doing homework, passing a note to the pretty girl, etc...

But allow a trained teacher to carry a concealed firearm on their person? No fking way! Imagine how dangerous that would be?

So now they have to use this stuff, or give it back. They wanted it, so obviously they must have some sort of use for it.

Grenades are good. What's a little collateral damage? It's only a school. It's not like there are any voters in attendance.

So its ok to arm the teachers with M16's, right? Why not? Maybe they could store the M16's with teenage mutant ninja costumes - then it should be acceptable for teachers to be armed.
