What's going on? Well, EPA decided to dictate better power conversion in wall warts. that is just about everything that plugs in to charge a battery, power a bunch of stuff and UPS's. They want to make it illegal to sell any existing stock - replacements, and so on. As it stands now, any company making/selling them would have to destroy all their current stock and then get the power conversion as well as each and every safety aspect approved by the government.

This bill wants to let them sell current stock and put off having to comply to gvmt dictate till the next generation of wall warts.

So you won't be able to buy the $.89 version on Amazon anymore and will probably have to buy the $30 version from the manufacturer?

if it's not held back, they are likely to get rare for a bit and more expensive.

for $30 you can get one with many different power levels and connector sizes.
